What do you do the most in Planet Zoo?

I am quite new to the Planet Zoo community. But I absolutely love animals and looking at all the animals In the game, being able to take care of them gives me so much joy! I play on sandbox without death, so I bond to the animals quite a lot! My favourite part of the game is honestly watching the animals and what they do in their environment as well as building

A small funny story! My partner also wanted to try the game, we played on my copy and took turns in creating buildings.. by the time he got home he was already hooked and got the game himself! 😂 Now he just builds for hours! I can’t blame him, it’s so addicting!

What do you do the most in Planet Zoo? What is your favourite part?

Building, actually, And as a huge animal lover I wasn't thinking I'd ever say that. But the endless possibilities of being creative hook me and are making Planet Zoo not only a gaming experience, but also a crafting experience. Two hobbies in one, basically.

I also love the animals, though, but they feel a bit lifeless to me. The color variation helps with that, now I hope that someday they get more divers individual personalities.

I love to build habitats in my Franchise zoo so I can take a lot of pictures, I love taking pictures, I probably spend atleast half my playtime looking for good pictures to take. XD The other half is spent designing habitats for me to take pictures in. lol

I love both building and watching the animals, almost equally. I can spend hours constructing houses and habitats, but it is always the most fun to finally let the animals in and watch them in their carefully created habitats. Both aspects of the game work together for me. I think their animations are amazing and very lifelike (some species are a bit more interesting than others, of course) and now with the colour variations, it has become even more interesting. So I take great pleasure in just watching my zoo, seeing everyone happy and deciding which offspring to keep, etc. Challenge mode is perfect for me - I really need to play in order to afford more buildings, and I always wait a while after moving to the next project when a habitat is finished.

I suppose a bit of everything. I like to build everything myself (with a little help of inspiration from other people creations), I love to watch the animals and take captures of them and I also like to manage my zoo, setting everything up and running. It is nice!

So yeah, got to agree that challenge mode is also my kind of mode. I have been very vocal about including an offline franchise to the game and the devs made it happen so I am forever grateful. Would not enjoy the gameas much if the only options would be sandbox or an online mode that one day will eventually discontinue the servers.

I beat all the scenarios, so I have access to all their lovely maps now. My current fave play-style is taking the best maps into challenge mode, (you can access all species this way, which you can't in scenario mode,) and bring out their potential. One of the most addicting parts is gaining conservation points through breeding and releasing, so I have access to more species. Expanding on the zoo by working off the pre-existing architecture is fun too. It's like you're actually saving a real zoo... like a Zoo Tycoon if you will.

I'm also planning on recreating the Greater Vancouver Zoo, by studying the pictures I took and observing it on Google Earth/street view. It's my local zoo but it's not the best out there... would be cool to improve on it, while keeping its main structure. Like seeing what the zoo would look like, if it were a public zoo and recieved proper funding.

Its even bigger than the San Diego Zoo, so it might not even fit into the map. Might need to split it in half, and use 2 zoo files. There are less animals than cool public zoos like San Diego, but bigger habitats for each species. This would be a new challenge since I rarely try building anything from scratch.

I usually play sandbox. My building skills in game are okay and what I build usually depends on how tedious I want it to be. I usually take a hour or longer for a enclosure and when done I love watching the animals.

I like looking at the animals. Seeing them interact and all that. I rarely even open my zoos because theyre just habitats with animals LOL. I really hope we get more on this though. Personality traits, interactions with keepers and guests etc. That would be incredible.

I'm a pretty awful builder, but I still like to see what I can get made. I recently decided that square and rectangular habitats were much easier to create without turning out weird, so lately I've been changing all my old ones to squares and rectangles. I just can't make a good "organic" shaped habitat. When I'm not trying to build something that looks nice-ish, I'm watching my animals. I never can pay attention as much as I want to.

I also name every baby, even the ones that will just be sold. I play franchise, and even though selling named animals is a thing, 98% have either default names, or sometimes things like "Gen 5." I think giving them creative names actually makes people want to buy them, they usually sell pretty quick. Sometimes just something like "Joe" if I can't think of anything good, but I'll also name them things like "Alan Grant." Got to get creative!

It's also fun to watch the staff and guests. They're not as boring as people act like they are. I like checking on random guests every now and then, just to see what problems my zoo has. I wish I knew what they're saying! I know there's a translator for their language, but it's hard to actually hear what their saying, it only works for signs and such.

The thing that game is so beautiful to not get me bored while I just watching other zoos at youtube, let alone playing myself it is the most fun part. Game is so addicting and having huge potential to be one of those games who can't get you bored anytime, I just hope for long support for Planet Zoo from devs. I know they will change focus to other projects eventually, but please don't let go Planet Zoo quickly anytime soon

Building, building, building, searching for a specific item and not finding it, building, building, fighting with paths (and loving it), building, struggle with waterheight (and hating it), building, building, building, deleting, building, deleting, building, looking at animals, building.
Start all over again.

Manage and sell my exhibit animals. No not really but sometimes it feels like it.

I'm not a very creative builder but I'm learning. But probably a mixture of everything.

:D I build every habitat and scenery at least twice. I had to laugh at this. Everytime I am satisfied, I am not satisfied for long.

Usually I spend the majority of my time trying to make a zoo entrance look good. I don't know why I struggle with it so much. I can make nice staff buildings and guest facilities no problem, but the entrance is always such a headache for me.

I love enclosure design! I have worked as a zookeeper before, so I love trying to make realistic back of house areas, and think about how the enclosures and staff areas would work in real life: night dens for my animals, vet access for animal check-ups/monitoring of pregnant animals, areas to separate young animals as they mature, bachelor sections for males, etc. That said, I love to design enclosures and keeper/staff areas as if money is no object - we spared no expense! So they're usually pretty elaborate, and try to replicate natural habitats. I like my guest areas to have an immersive feel, and I think about guest view in the sense of "if I were a photographer at this zoo, how would I want to view the animals?" I also make sure that there is a section of guest area that sets the scene of the greatest problem for that species and how we can work to help solve that issue.

There would be no purpose to enclosure design without the animals though. I spend a lot of time face-to-face with my animals, watching them interact with their environment and one-another. I keep genealogy records in a notebook and give myself conservation-driven breeding program goals, which will be even more fun now with colour variations. I love watching my animals, and taking screenshots.

I usually play in Sandbox, but I love a bit of a challenge so sometimes I'll turn money on, or I'll play Challenge mode instead. Have fun figuring out your favourite way to play!

I would love to see your zoos with all of the different sections. One day, I want to also build arealistic zoo with night dens, male seperation and such.
