What do you expect in the odisey fps? positive fps post

Positive? OK.
I xpect good sensual feedback - incoming damage, weapon utilisation, environmental effects. Sound, Gfx, visuals, mechanics of shooting, manouvering - it all forms a unity with each part contributing.

Really, looking forward to it. I've been flying to stuff, looking at stuff, and blowing stuff up from my space ship for a long time. Ready to get out of my space ship and do some of the same on foot. No more NPC portaits. I hope the ground combat has a ton of group activity. That's my main hope for the DLC. Get my friends in and keep them playing with group content. The planets look great, ground combat looks great, very excited.

I hope there'll be some missions where you can hoof it a good distance to a base, scout it out from a nearby hilltop with a sniper rifle, etc. More slow paced, stealthy approach, with some sniping, before things go loud and you blast all the enemies up close.
This ^^^^^^^

I've always felt that a "discrete" power failure should be done SNEAKING into a base, not DRIVING in with your SRV plowing around with the lights on showing every drone where you are. Should be done in a more "secret agent stealthy" mode.

I hope the FPS element is quite slow and heavy in terms of feel, more Battlefield than CoD (I may not be up to date on this as the last BF game I played was BF3), it would be suitable for Elite better than the edgy stuff .

I also look forward to (probably most in fact) the increased sense of scale when on foot - if you use the vanity camera from certain angles, you'll realize how huge even small boats actually are.

Then there are the planetary surfaces, particularly icy worlds, new settlements and I'm curious how the mixed battlefield will play out (on foot, SRV, ships, and station / settlement defenses)

Finally, the ability to experience the environment from a different perspective (looking out the window inside a station) is another thing that I am eager to check.

I also expect something battlefield (like 2142) because the call of duty is too hectic for something like elite, on the other hand, something more tactical is the most necessary for this type of games and if it is possible to destroy some doors as sealing places leads to playing with such components

Still, I would except at least some great moments visually and astounding soundscape, based exactly on that track record.
I have no doubt about that, the problem is the gameplay. FD doesn't shine when making game mechanics and interesting gameplay loops.
I don't expect much tbh.
Take a mission, go there, kill stuff, take reward.
Take a mission, go there, hold a button to scan a rock, take reward.

Federal memorandum?

Well my question is simple, what actions and missions do you hope to be able to perform in Odyssey? I say in the face of so many criticism post of "they killed my game by giving it fps" I want to see the other side of the coin and what expectations or dreams the CMDR have before the Fps. For example, I am hoping to have settlement defense missions, all very nice with that of deactivating a base, but I would also like to defend a settlement together with my fleet companions

(If it was not understood well, it is because it is google translator)
I’m really hoping it’s a combat simulator to go with the space simulation maybe even with some hydration and hunger

What I'm looking forward to is that I don't have to shoot anything in this supposed first person shooter (why are people calling it a FPS).

Oh and another thing. I'm really looking forward to getting a mission at a station, getting into my ship, fly to the destination, SRV to get closer, jump out of the SRV, do the mission objective (maybe combat, maybe diplomacy, maybe stealth, maybe stealing, maybe something else), while I'm there, pick up another mission, get back to my ship, fly back to station to get my payment, fly to next mission destination etc etc. I haven't seen a FPS that's ever been released allow me to ever do that.

Frontier doesn't appear to be doing a lot with Odyssey. Leaving ships and having to watch the game cut between the cockpit and the ground would be comparable to alt+tabbing to a generic barebones FPS.
Why would having to walk through your ship to get outside change it from being a generic FPS?

TL;DR: Can't be positive about an FPS horseshoed into a space trader game.
Me neither, but thankfully, from what I've seen, heard and read, it won't be a generic shooter horseshoes into a space trader game. Also ED isn't a space trader game, I've been playing for the last 2 years and haven't done any trade what so ever.

ED is a game set in space and on planets were you can have adventures. Now those adventures can also happen outside of your ship, sounds great to me so far (yes, some shooting maybe involved, just like it is up in space).

Battlefield 2142 is probably the game I have the fondest memories of playing. Player counts were lower, maps where huge, there was the tactical complexity of Titan mode, and I liked the future-ish setting. But Elite Dangerous is not Battlefield, and I don't see how they would be able to deliver a Battlefield-like experience even if they wanted to - just things like the respawn mechanic prevent that (In Battlefield, most players probably expect to die and respawn several times per game).

Well all the other Elite games are, and besides being balanced better, the earlier Elite games were doing new things for gaming - not just sitting around with DLC piling up, for those unable to control their wallets, to buy. Elite II may not have space legs, but it sure did polish what was there.

I've played all the other Elite games. None of them were just a space trading game. Trade you could do, it was an option available to you, like it is in this one.
