What do you listen to in VR whilst playing?

Whenever I'm doing long hauls or farming around in the SRV I like to listen to something at the same time. Last thing I listened to while farming raw mats was The Hobbit audiobook.

What do you listen to? If anything? Got a cool podcast or radio station worth trying?

The game, with most of the messages disabled and the music turned off or way down. It's not an immersion thing, I just like doing one thing at a time. If I want to listen to music, I'll lay down and put on my headphones. If I want to read a book, I'll turn off the TV/music/computer and read. The exception would be listing to an audio book on a long drive (several days cross country).

Random stuff on Spotify, podcasts (mostly news of the week comedies and such). When I have accumulated a few weeks of GalNet news, I listen to that. Sometimes I just listen to the game. Very immersive sound.

Yeah the game has fantastic sound desgin. Sometimes though, it helps to be slightly distracted from the grind when playing. I listen to a lot of comedy stuff on youtube also because a lot of isn't visual.

The Red Dwarf audio drama is also pretty funny. I'd recommend that.

When I did my 5000k exploration it was in "the before time" when VR was just a dream of mine. Back then the long exploration was the only time I felt like I needed to add something to the game, and in that case it was Youtube and netflix playing on my laptop.
Now that I got VR I haven't done any long explorations. There have been a few grinds for rank where I'm running lots of missions but I haven't felt like reaching for another input enough to take off the headset.
I think if I got there I'd pick a podcast. I love my podcasts, but often don't have time to keep up (since my day-job involves listening) so I think I'd add a podcast playlist in the background.
If I ran out, I'm sure I'd try an audiobook!
But again, only for exploration. even mission running requires enough of my attention that I don't know if I'd want anything else on.

When I get my VR gear all setup, I'll be making use of Oculus Home's ability to pin windows and then have Netflix on. Nothing like making a long journey with an episode of Star Trek TNG to watch. Sod just listening to stuff.

Let me know if it works for you. Netflix makes my game super choppy. I use OVRdrop to put windows of a brower in my headset and all other videos work fine, youtube, twitch etc. It's just Netflix for some reason.

Radio Sidewinder via G19. Great immersion given its simulated radio in the ED galaxy! Really enjoy the commercials!

The game. The music and sound work is second to none, so I stick with what works. I do have EDDI and some other bits informing me of "stuff" and I've been known to use VoiceAttack with a voice pack, but I'm happy to play vanilla.
