What do you love about ED to date

in the interests of fairness, what do you love in Elite dangerous

i tried to make it a multiple choice poll with 3 choices each, however i am new to this so could have stuffed it.

thinking about it i cocked up (edit, thanks T.J)


oh and my vote for the record......

VR - for me I do not think i could play out of VR now, i have played a lot of stuff in VR, and most of it is good, but ED takes it to the next level.... indeed on the oculus site ED is currently rated as the single best VR app on the market.

CO OP MP..... sure, it can be flakey, but most of may gameplay now is playing in a wing with friends.

Flight Model .... The ability to flip flop between FA on and off is what nails it for me. SC does something similar, but (at last time of playing) does not convey the same feeling of "mass" that ED does. I adore the Elite flight model, and have done since 1st throttling up my sidewinder in premium beta.

(and due to my own poll limits, the 1:1 scale and awesome sound assetts just missed out but are also superb and key to the Elite experience for me)

yeah i am at work so could not spend hrs padding out, am sure i missed some doozies in there. Just htought it would be nice to have a positve poll in with all the negatives, because after all, i assume at its core, most of us do like the game, otherwise why are we here.

i fully expect it to either drop off in the sea of (edit) disappointment (/edit), OR get redirected to a moan thread however

I don't think it is hate. It is more disappointment over something special that has been lost.

First two were easy, the galaxy & the flight model. I had a dilemma on the third between sound effects & ship choice, I went with ship choice in the end.

The AI never seems to feature in these lists, good or bad.

fair enough... but in a way that is great news.. .you love so much in the game, you cant pick just 3 things, which kind of tells a story in its own right... that despite where ED may (or may not depending on your view) be lacking in some areas, when you look at the big picture, clearly there is a lot to like in the game.

there is now an "other" choice so you can vote on that if you like and then discuss .

That were some hard choices... i would have liked to vote for sound effects as well, but we all know that they are great beyond discussion.

I voted for... because...:

- 1:1 Milky Way Galaxy, because it delivers almost infinite freedom and displays the vastness and beauty of space in a second to none way.
- The flight model might not be even close to realism, but it feels right to the point. Flying is fun and challenging and is full of options, tactics and choices.
- Planetary Landings are breathtaking in Elite, actually a total game changer for me. A masterpiece of coding and visual presentation.
I hope to see this improve over time with many new features - i am already looking forward to geysers and gasjets. Cant wait for active volcanism to get into the game

It's OK. It'll get everyone's top 3 so will still yield interesting results. If they vote (not voting just because it's limited to 3 is a tad churlish if you ask me).

Not fair...I want to pick at least 10.

Since it's 3 I'd have to go for the "obvious", what you see and hear > Visuals and Audio. The flight model rounds it up for me. Perma FAOFF FTW!

Would have pick all of the options though. It all what make ED so awesome for me.
