What do you think is the most boring part of the game?

While I love the game, there are definitely some bad spots.

Personally, I think it's got to be USS hunting, esp. in unoccupied systems. Cruising around for an hour looking for that last pirate, and finding nothing but worthless salvage... or vice versa!

So what do you think is the most boring part of the game? What do you strive to avoid at all costs... or do, because you need to to do what you want, but absolutely hate?

Mining. Do not try mining.

Exploring is also boring as there's nothing unique to find, just stars and rocks.

USS hunting

This exactly. That stuff is the most boring and tedious thing game this game has to offer, and right up there with the wonky AI/IFF in terms of immersion breakers.

Space is big, they say. Yet somehow it seems to make sense to just randomly float around in space until you find the one person you're looking for, without any directions beyond "this solar system" whatsoever?

Supercruise. Every other part of the game I can see why it's designed the way it is, even if I don't particularly like it. Supercruise though is the design equivalent of someone drawing in crayon with their tongue poking out of the corner of their mouth.

Combat. It really detracts from the best part of the game. I don't want it to go away as part of the game but I have little interest in it myself.

Frankly, it got to be supercruise, since you spend most of your time doing absolutely nothing due to the various speed caps. Only when you're close to your target or when there's an interdiction do you actually get to play the game. And let's not talk about targets that are hundred of thousands of ls away, when your game gives its players enough time to watch whole serie episodes while playing you're doing something wrong.

FD needs to figure out a way for us to massively shrink travel time through skillful and potentially dangerous flying.

This.

I enjoy most things in this game, except exploration because of supercruise. It's holy crap tedious, and it just doesn't seem to fit anything. Give me a damn module that will fly the route I want and wake me up if there's an interdiction or something else interesting! Hell there's a module to autodock but not to deal with supercruise. I don't even use that because at least docking is quick and interesting.

I actually created a forum account just to voice my displeasure with supercruise in this thread.

LMAO....now that's funny

Most boring part for me is lack of an external view camera. It would give something to do in supercruise and let me immerse myself in the beauty of the game...

Frontier have postulated a camera drone for use while not in combat. When (and if) that gets implemented, we'll have that exterior view. I'm rather looking forwards to that.

It's definitely a barrier to enjoying the game for me. There needs to be an auto-pilot option which gets you there at the best speed and drops you out of SC but most importantly there is nothing to do whilst in SC.

Eve has a similar mechanic but you can be doing other things at the same time. ED can't even provide a realistic ETA for you to alt-tab.

I get that space is big and that an interdiction meta game can be played but 5+ minutes of nothing to do (e.g. markets to asses, upgrades to plan, ship performance metrics to analyse, combat videos to review, etc.) which forces you to sit at your keyboard in case you over shoot or get interdicted is missing the balance of immersion and enjoyment.

If this was a thread about frustration, it would be completing bulletin missions and the pointless hunting multiple systems and non-relevant instances.
