Just in case we can have any influence whatsoever :)

Of course I'm assuming the appetite for any gameplay video is the most voracious, so I'm trying to get a feel for what it is about the gameplay people want to hear more about.

I'd like to know more about the exploration:

- will there be ancient relics to be found that we can "sell" to some museum or other faction?

- will we be searching for new, exploitable resources (gas giants and asteroids to mine, for example - can we sell information of the new lucrative sources of valuables, for example, if we don't care to mine them ourselves?)

- will there be ancient generation ships that we can discover and perhaps interact with?

A gameplay video, which features starting in one system, maybe trading, maybe picking up a mission and then heading on out. Maybe a fight or two along the way, followed by arrival at the destination. A snippet of what a basic mission would be like in other words.

Also: a complete remake of Frontier's opening sequence, complete with the music, using Elite D's engine. That will get the blood (and pledges) flowing. ;)

100,000,000,000 times agree with this :D (I may be slightly exaggerating on this):D

It would make a huge difference to the KS campaign.

I want to know what the space environment will be like, and I want to know how big the galaxy will be, will it be based on Frontiers galaxy etc. So far we have nothing to go on regarding this respect (surprise surprise). I am expecting now for them to turn around and say it will be a small galaxy initially to be expanded on in a paid for expansion pack.

We definitely need to know if it's based on Frontier's galaxy or not; I want this game to feel like 'coming home', even if milk runs from Barnard's Star to Sol aren't as risk free as they were (I hope they're not).

That's why I'd like a 'Let's Play Elite Dangerous'. We'll be able to see all that sort of stuff: the galaxy screen, the trading screen, the BB, the departure (whether there's any 'ATC') hyperspace and arrival. Last but not least, whether there's 'The Blue Danube' while docking. ;)

'Let's Play Elite Dangerous'..... ohhhhhh, doesn't it just send a shiver down your spine? No lie, it's doing that to me right now. ;)

Me too. Has to be set in the 'real' galaxy, core systems haven't moved much in 20 years, you can change the rest of the stuff around though and nobody will mind.

As for the milk runs - trading between two rich, stable systems should still be a safe thing to do, it just shouldn't be very profitable.

In FE2 there were some totally exploitable trade runs where you could almost guarantee a safe run and still make loads of money doing it. In reality, that wouldn't happen. Risk = Reward.

Barnard's Star, load up with Robots, go to Sol and find someone who 'needs Robots urgently and will pay twice the market price for them'. Result: Massive profit. ;) Part of the problem with Frontier is you were never really forced outside of your comfort zone. Hopefully the dynamic galaxy and economy will put an end to that. :)

If it's not set in the 'real' galaxy, then that's actually a bit of a dealbreaker for me. That's one of the reasons X didn't do it for me - not the only one, but it was a factor. ;)

And I want to go ice fishing in Ross 154. :D

Yeah, I quoted 'real' because beyond the local systems, Frontier's was procedurally generated, we didn't have accurate galactic maps then and I don't even know if we do now.

We certainly don't know all of the possible planets.... but with the exoplanet discovery missions, it would be interesting to know what FD think of this and whether they'll be placed in the relevant systems?

Procedural generation has 20 years of advancement, so does real world science and astronomy so I would expect some things to be different (better!).

Different planet surfaces when it comes to it - definately. Want to be able to see volcanic worlds, ocean worlds, dead planets, charred close-orbiting worlds, 'hot jupiters' etc - that feel like they're in the right place/orbits. Kids might learn something :)

More of the vision (generally)

As The Space Pirate said, a somewhat elaborate gameplay video so that we can get some flavor of the game.

Frontier was the first thing to teach me that there was more than one type of star out there, and that our 'mighty' Sun is actually a flaming 'yellow dwarf'!!!!!!! It was definitely at the root of my current high interest in astronomy. :)

Speaking of different stars, I really hope the searing light of a white giant is replicated, along with the dim glow of a red dwarf. Following on from that, can you guys imagine how amazing Arcturus is going to look??

Nothing in the poll.
But I would like to hear more about what Michael was talking about here in one of his answers on Kickstarter.
There will be little story vignettes scattered around the galaxy for players to follow

I'd like to see this too, although obviously they'd have to swap the landing on the planet part - may entering a gas giant, or skimming fuel from a sun would be a good replacement.

I missed that, intriguing to say the least. I assume it will be like the stories in the Newspapers in FFE.

Could be.
They talk a little bit about it in part 3 of the interview, both Roberts & DB said that their games would have a number of self contained story missions rather than one linear story.

I don't think Frontier have said much about any story or narrative within the game and maybe they should as a lot of people may be being put off thinking that it is just an online shooter.

I'm looking forward to the first newsletter, I have to admit! Should be very soon I think.

I'd like to understand more about how travelling within a system will work. - Use of fuel, real length of time required, jump gate use etc etc
