What does scenery rating for coasters do?

Has anyone figured this out?

I built a coaster with no scenery. Then added enough scenery to get the rating to high. But no change in the coaster excitement or other stats.

From what I've been able to decipher, coaster scenery rating only affects the amount of money peeps are willing to spend on a ride, and it also affects how likely a peep is to ride a coaster. It does not affect the excitement rating. I've heard it affects the fear rating but I am unsure on that one.

I can say it's not like RCT.

I think it helps get guest to ride the ride. I had a coaster that I did not have a lot of people going to but as soon as I started putting a lot of stuff around the que and doing a coaster station building the que started to fill up.

Yes, you're right - especially the price can be increased if the rating of the scenerey is high.
I haven't discovered any fear rating change so far, gut have to say, that my coasters are not a lot of time surrounded by scenery.

What I know as well, that the scenery rating depends on how the ticketbooth/entrance of the ride is filled with scenery - the queue itself does not need scenery to get a better rating (which in my opinion is a bit strange!)

I'm not talking about the queue scenery rating

The only thing I know it does for certain is enable you to charge more for ride entry, thanks to one of the loading screen text hints.

Edit - thinking on it, that may have been queue scenery, not 100% sure.

Yea that's for queue scenery.

I haven't figured out if the coaster scenery does anything.

Does it make a difference on transport or flat rides?
