Community Event / Creation What Does Your Commander Look Like?

Mine was originally created in the mid-Eighties and was a collaborative effort between me and the late Sally Parks (who wrote much of the material which once appeared at the Elite Bulletin Board System (EBBS)) and whose name is Cmdr. Jannah Berihn. I would be interested in seeing if anyone else has gone that extra-step and created a visual representation of their alter-egos or on-screen selves. Berihn has since become quite popular in the older Elite community as a ruthless and cunning pirate and freebooter.

CMDR Jannah Berihn superimposed against her antique Cobra MK III, the Moonlight Shadow. Originally from Diso, Berihn later rose to prominence as the owner/operator of the freebooter Coriolis station known as Longhaul Outpost and was involved in many and varied incidents and adventures. None too fond of the Empire, certainly not allied with anyone irrespective of how much they were willing to pay her, Berihn remained a independent for life as it allowed her to play all factions off against each other. "Somebody once said that 'war is good for business' - and I agree. As long as I'm the one orchestrating it."

I haven't created an avatar for my pilot yet, but I like the idea.
Great picture and character bio you have there.

Thanks, The FULL biographic for the character can be seen here: http://jonathanbluestone.deviantart.com/art/LONGHAUL-OUTPOST-LHO-519567977 - as for the character, in order to get the same basic feel (in regards to graphics) I used the character creating element of a game called Saints Row The Third (or Saints Row IV) so if you have that, you may want to try what I've done and then dump the resulting artwork out into a art package to clean up. The station interior of course was generated in Elite: Dangerous. I'm aware there are scale issues, but if I made my character to scale there would not be much to look at in that image!

I have no idea. I will just wait and see what kind of character customization options we will get eventually.
I hope we will be able to go a cyborg route. I would like to ditch the human flesh.
When we are able to hire npc crew I will also only use robotic crew to do the job.
No meat bags allowed.

Hey hey, nice work guys! Great work there. And yes, I hear you on the character generation which is why I had to resort to using a generator from another game as frankly I have a hard time drawing people.

Ah! I was looking for a thread like this! I didn't want to make a new topic if I didn't have to. This is my first post so I don't think I could have anyway. Anyway, here is my pilot, CMDR Xkalibur, in front of her Cobra.

Great work, Commander and apologies for the delay. I've been out of things for a spell but I'm almost back now. Almost back. And seeing as that was your first post - welcome to the ELITE universe; it's a place I've lived in since 1984 and the BBC Microcomputer release of the original tape cassette release of the game.

I don't have a drawing ready on-hand (even though I KINDA do, if "MS Paint" is OK)...but the short answer, kinda like Luke Skywalker from A New Hope.

@jonbluestone - Blimey this is a blast from the past - I spent many a day on the EBBS - Jannah's contribution was immense - sad to learn of Sally's passing. I was wondering if there was a station named "Longhaul Outpost" in ED which led me here....
