What else do you want from PZ except from more animals?

I would really love more foliage and plant life, across all the biomes! I love what we have so far and more options would be wonderful.

I'd also love to ditto @Markiz's suggestion of varying models. I think it's great that the game already has visual differences between animals (colours, patterns) and that many can develop scars etc. to differentiate them, but more extreme variation--such as a broken tusk for an elephant--would add so much individuality, I think. It's not at all a pressing desire for me, but it would definitely be neat.

Being able to attach more than one gate to a habitat would be very valuable too, as it would allow for even more options when designing exhibits. But also not a high priority for me.

For me personally, my greatest wish for the game re: enjoyment would be something I mentioned in this thread: I'd love to link zoos in challenge mode the way they are in franchise. That would be literally game-changing for me and I think would greatly increase the potential playability of Planet Zoo long-term. I'm having a lot of fun as-is, but it's absolutely the dream to be able to make a dozen linked zoos and create breeding programs etc. without having to be on online mode at all times.

The flow of the game would be much more relaxed if activists appeared at a much lower frequency. Thomson gazelles are stressed far too quickly and although all other values are at 100%, the animal is directly considered unsuitable for the enclosure.
If out of 4 bars only one is at 0%, then it is also not 0% overall it is 75%. So PZ's calculation makes no sense.

Protesters really need some tweaking, yes. With easy to stressed animals (that don't even search for shelter before they are totally freaked out), it's impossible to not have them on a much too regular basis. Of course using one-sided glass could help, however, not every player wants to use it due to realism reasons.

  • more social behaviour/interaction/herding
  • employees should be able to walk more than 5 metres in one year without complaining (looking at educators specifically)
  • more activities for guests (without making it too theme-parc-ish, but thinking playgrounds etc.)
  • more shops and restaurants, in different sizes and styles
  • I'd like more fences too, maybe even more natural-looking ones (custom-made is fine, but bad for the performance)
  • ability to define paths for caretakers and security
  • cleaner water behind the glass barriers
  • ability to limit the amount of guests which can enter a walkthrough-habitat and/or ability to mark paths as one way
  • education boards which don't need electricity
(no particulaar order)

  • Fix climbing (my primates keep getting stuck and just sit there, starving)
  • Proper underwater tunnels instead of the clunky ones we have to do now
  • A way to help the guests get better views of animals in wildlife park habitats rather than zoo-sized ones
  • Remove the rock borders from the waterfall blocks so they fit into lakes and rivers
  • Flowing water for rivers
  • Invisible tracks for the river boats and 4x4s
  • Custom exhibits
  • Stop long grass growing up through the paths!!!
  • Make it possible to put benches, bins etc in blueprints and allow them to be multiselected. Ever changed a massive area of the zoo and had to individually delete each and every one? It's not as soul destroying as paths with personalities but getting there.

Some mechanics or features I would like to see added:

- Animal training: by this, I don't mean tricks or performances, but rather the kind done by keepers to more closely observe the animal's health. It could involve some kind of training wall. As a reward for doing it, when an animal increases the rapport with its keeper it can be treated in its enclosure for illnesses and injuries rather than being carted off to the vet centre. Certainly, this kind of thing is done a lot at my home zoo and they are also increasingly starting to put these training walls on public view so visitors can see the process too.

- Nocturnal house creation: being able to darken an area without having to either bury it underground or turn the entire zoo to night mode would really help to create more realistic nocturnal houses.

- Smaller animals: this would tie in with the nocturnal house; for me the inclusion of small animals which have large outdoor enclosures (such as meerkats, squirrels, rabbits, small monkeys etc.) is as important as flying birds are. I would like to see some attempt to make these smaller animals although I wouldn't want them if they had to be unrealistically over-sized to make it into the game like the meerkats in Zoo Tycoon 2 were.

- New shapes and habitats for exhibits: I would love to see a temperate display for exhibit animals so that those species that would not 'fit' into the current rainforest or desert displays can be included. Also there should be a greater diversity in size and shape of exhibit - as well as the current-sized box there could be one half the size and another a quarter of the size (for invertebrates and small frogs) along with wedge-shaped and both vertical and horizontal cylindrical exhibits.

- Updated animal movements: flying and brachiation are the most obvious ones, I would like to see burrowing (even if it is only in association with certain enrichment items); I would also eventually like to see fully aquatic animals which could open the doors to species like manatees, medium-sized sharks and large freshwater fishes.

- Changing reintroduction requirements: to match the reality of the challenges of reintroducing animals, there should be the possibility of a reintroduction failing; the chances of failure can depend on the design of an enclosure and its genetics - this could work with adding animal personalities, as it is known that shy animals are better-suited for reintroduction than bold ones, which tend to investigate every threat they see and often don't survive long. I feel like that would add some more challenge to this part of the game. Obviously, the potential for reintroductions to fail could be toggled to be on or off.

  • smaller wall and roof pieces
  • placing walls and roof pieces off grid
  • mirrow pieces instead rotating only
  • FIX THE PATHING SYSTEM AND THEIR COLLISION WITH TERRAIN/WATER/BARRIERS, IT'S A PAIN
  • flowing water
  • scenery (trees, bushes, walls etc) blocking guests viewing
  • different terraformed premade maps instead of all flat
