Remember way back when in the giddy good old days of 2.0 we were promised the faces associated with our mission givers would be the start of persistent characters with whom there'd be a growing relationship? So I was wondering what came of that? Surely what we have with the same avatar and npc name on the mission board isnt the end of that development line? Please tell me I wasnt the only one who thought there'd be a more dynamic relationship coming out of it. An NPC friend, or enemy. A dynamic where you'd be flying minding your own business in a different sector and randomly get a message from this mission giver asking how are you doing, when are you coming back? Can you bring some (X Y or Z) on your way. or "Hey since you are out in the vicinity of [system name] drop into [starport] my old college friend [another npc] is expecting you. (instant friendly with that faction because of the introduction.) or perhaps we'd have the ability to reach out to those npc's "Buddy youknow all those favours I've done you? Well you've got to help me out, I need....". Or perhaps if we are allied with a faction, they could invite us to dock so instead of being told to request docking permission their starports almost beg us to land on a pad that has been preemptively made available for us"Ah CMDR, its good to see you again, we'd be honoured if you'd join us, we have taken the liberty of preparing a welcoming committee on pad 39 for you."
So enough of my theory crafting about potential minor narrative arcs, what do you think ought to be brought into play with regard to npc interaction?
