Greetings

I remember reading that we would be able to dock ship to ship at some point (dunno where I seen it sorry), what ever happened to that?

And if it is still in the plans how would that work, I mean I haven't seen anywhere on the ships that look like a universal docking port.

Thoughts?

I don't know, but maybe it was in the old founders forum stuff during alpha/beta? In anycase, I wouldn't expect to see something like that until after the FPS mode is made, perhaps for Season 3 next year.

If it's coming, I'd guess it'll be in Season 3 if that's still the "interiors" season. No point docking with another ship if you can't do anything then..

As I recall, it was originally mentioned in conjunction with player-to-player direct trading - something which they decided to not implement, along with rejecting the concept of player-to-player credit transfers. So yes, until and unless "walking around on ships" and/or "pirate boarding" become things, there's no real purpose in docking ships anymore.

As for "where would a dock connect to", most of the smaller ships I've flown in have a door on their rear panels, a door that looks suspiciously like an airlock and which has nothing to do with the boarding ramp that's down below with the landing gear. I'd assume this door is where your ship would attach to another ship or some other object that didn't have landing pads.
