What factors affect supply?

I'm not clear on what factors affect supply amount and regeneration rate.

I've been looking at various refinery and extraction systems, and trying to determine why some have higher supply than others.

Anyone know?

• unknowns? (wealth, tech level, standard of living.)

states can affect the regeneration rate, which is otherwise bound to max supply level afaik.
