What Government Types Do You Support, Why/Why Not?

Anarchy
Colony
Democracy
Imperial
Corporate
Communism
Feudal
Dictatorship
Theocracy
Cooperative
Patronage
Confederacy
Prison Colony

I'm having a bit of trouble deciding which government types I'm willing to support. It feels like they've all got their downsides. What government types do you support? Convince me!

(I know it's a bit silly because there is no background info on any factions so a prison colony could theoretically be a better place than a democracy. Maybe one shouldn't care at all about the government type for that reason?)

Presume this is an in-game question.

Depends on what you roleplay your commander to be. Suppose supporting an anarchy faction could be interesting (if they exist - pirate bases are anarchic yes?).

Hah! "Rich communist system" is the only unrealistic thing in the game!

This is so true but I doubt you comprehend why.

Communism is unrealistic and usually people say for Socialism that is Communism which is wrong. Socialism is what we had here on Earth and not a single country was ever Communistic or is Communistic at present day. It is hard to have country with no government, no money and no need for money, no political leader yet people to be enough self aware to run the country. On top of that - how they could ever trade with other countries? Having that in mind, they invented Socialism as transitional form of government that actually driven people away from path to Communism (usually ending up with harsh dictators and poor living standards as well as many biases). I even made suggestion to change this ingame to say "Socialism".

Back to topic - IRL democracy, ingame Imperial law and patronage - swag ships, royal titles, possibility to redeem yourself honestly without going into prison...

This is so true but I doubt you comprehend why. Here's what communism means:...

I'm pretty sure "communism" in-game refers to hardcore socialism, not idealistic communism. After all, they buy your stuff instead of helping themselves to it and loading you up on whatever stuff they'd like you to have. :D

"Rich" doesn't necessarily mean that the general public is rich, does it? The Party can be quite rich in a communist system. :D
Or it may be rich via high productivity...

I am helping out some commie independents atm to see where it goes.

I haven't started building rep yet, but I think I'll find a nice corporate faction in the Alliance. For freedom!
Hilarious, mate.

My answer is available for purchase by any political ideologue which believes their system to be the best. Private bids.

Hilarious, mate.

I'm glad we amuse each other. :D

I wanted to say anarchy, however in the context of the game that means lawless and I want no part in it.
