What graphics settings do I change to get my icy rings to look like this?

This is what I’m looking for, a brilliant white/blue:

Right now the rocks in my rings have the faintest hint of blue/white on the shadow side, and on the light side they look like... plain, gray rocks. (I made sure I was in an icy ring multiple times, and I’ve tried multiple rings since recently returning to the game!) I could have sworn they looked a lot prettier when I last played 3 years ago, they used to be some of my favorite places. But I can’t find the right settings to get them back that way...

not sure you can, the game had a graphics overhaul in the asteroid belts iirc when they re-tooled mining around 2 years after that image was posted

asteroid belts are now more dusty and directly affected by the available light, light refraction and all that fancy graphics wot not, if your finding things are too plain\grey you may want to move to a spot in the asteroid belt which is more in the stars light. turn your ships lights on will allow you so see some what more detail if your in the shadow of a plant or roid but you need to get up close and personal

edit 1: you could try playing round with tools like re-shade and sweetFX to remove fog and tweaking colour saturation etc but thall affect the whole game so long as the graphics overlay is running

edit 2: ingame try lowering bloom, FX quality, volumetric effects quality but again this will affect the whole game. id suggest playing with volumetric lighting and bloom first

EDHM has nice colour effects when using night vision. You can find it in the thread below
