Hello CMDR's,

I know many of you are excited by the 2.1 beta and all the goodness it promises... But I have a request to make of you all.

Please keep ALL the talk contained to the new area that's been set up. I and I suspect many others do not want to have the game spoiled in any way.

I know what it can be like though and I am sure that some of you will get so excited over various parts of the beta that you will just have to rush to the forums and tell everyone... Please don't.

I do have a huge workload on right now so I'm hoping I won't get to see the forums for a few weeks during the day but when I and others come to find out the latest news - we want the news about 2.0 only, not to read that aliens have been discovered, there was a war with them and all humanity is dead or a list of all the engineers locations with completely guaranteed result tables.

I'll do my part. But AFAIK all 'story elements' are disabled in beta, as it was last time. :)

I like to talk, especially about new things. But If somebody would drop a lot of Palladium for me I would be busy picking it up and selling it and would have no time to talk.... :D

To be fair, often times stuff spills over into the main forum by the doom and gloom crowd who aren't participating in the beta but are reading the beta forum. As was the case with the Python nerf. Most of the beta testers were discussing in the beta forum and the doom and gloom crowd started a ruckus here instead.

I really hope so, cause I´ve planned to crash my asp against a planet so I don´t have to make the 10,000 Ly trip back to try the new stuff :D

Naw I'm spilling the beans.. good and bad.

Now if they'd only get the permissions right. Lifetimer's are supposed to get access right? No launcher download for me..

What happens in Beta will most certainly NOT stay in Beta. It will be plastered all over the Internet! YouTube, Reddit, forums...you name it.

What beta forum? ;)

I'm trying to decide if I'm too lazy to mess around with having to download a new launch and/or mess with my Steam installed launcher to run it. I get tired of uninstalling and reinstalling things. Maybe if I had a dedicated gaming rig (what a waste that would be), instead of one that host severs and crunches data.

Guess if there were a Linux version of the game I could get it going on my laptop... hint hint. :p

The "first world problems" of a lifetime expansion pass holder...

Fat chance.

If you want to avoid getting any new thing spoiled, I'd avoid browsing forums that talk about the game altogether. That seems like a sensible thing to do.

Reasonable request, and that's generally what happens... but I think (correct me if I'm wrong) the beta forums are public, and there's nothing to stop other players reading them and discussing what they see there in the open forums.

Yeah... don't talk about the cool new aspects of a game on the game's own forum. Good luck with that. :D

All the real main story elements, if anyone bothers to actually follow them, are manually injected anyway, so we won't get them in the beta.

Complaining about finding out about a ship nerf ahead of time, seriously? Like it or not, this is a game, and therefor the meta is real. There's an RP section for those who are in denial. ;)
