What happened CMDr Caleb?

Greetings

I was doing some trading and on way to destination I saw a CMDr Caleb in SC, I sent greetings and he replied.

I then reached my destination sold my cargo picked up some more and launched, as I approached the exit I see a CMDr approaching station and I select him and it's Caleb,I stop and move put of the way in my T7 to let him enter in his Cobra.

So he enters and then I fly out and line up for jump, I'm still locked on to Caleb on scanner, I see he opens his hard points and then I hear lasers and say to myself WTH? and then I get the target destroyed notification.

I couldn't help but giggle to myself but I'd like to know what the hell happened.

So if you read this Commander Caleb let me know please.

He could have been smuggling Coors East of Texas and that's bootlegging.

More likely he's hostile with a few of the sub factions and one of the authority ships took a pot shot at him. Rather than 4 pips to the shield and get inside, he may have fired back which tends to upset the station, and then station has rather powerful weapons.

He propably pop-shoted and got melted by the station anti-pop system.

Ohh well... but like above said, you stepping a side to let him pass? Aren't you a nice fella, i take off my hat to you sir, you're a true gentleman.
