<<What happened in the latest Erimus one video?<<

Just caught up with the latest Erimus one explorer video link here

https://www.youtube.com/user/ErimusOne/videos

For those of you who don't follow this CMDR (i'm not sure how popular this guy is) he was one of the CMDR's that inspired me to continue my quest in ED. His videos of his quest to furthest galactic edge are magnificent.

Anyway, on his latest videos Erimus and his wingman appear to have clues laid out to them whilst exploring far away from inhabited space. Leading to disaster if you watch the video.

I'm confused about what happened at the end of the last video.

Are the Daedalus team given special game scenarios by FD?

Its a great movie to watch, but I really want to know more. if what is seen in the video is actual in-game footage, then these guys must be being handed different instances than the rest of us.

I hope some answers will shed light on if Erimus is just a real great story teller and film maker, or if their quest is now part of FD's story line.

And without spoiling the end of the video for all. My commiserations to the mission and the brave CMDR.

CMDR Erimus is the greatest explorer in Elite...I don't think among explorers you will find someone who doesn't recognizes his name...

Speaking of him...why don't you ask him about the video in his you tube channel? Also, he is hanging around this galactic map thread lately....

No, not special treatment. 100% in-game assets.... used for some great film-making.

For some people, the phrase "use your imagination" is taken as a creative challenge... as it should be.

That's good, moody storytelling. Love it.

The visuals are all in-game, either using the cockpit view, filming another Cmdr, and more recently the debug camera.

One thing that jumped out at me for the New Horizons series was the communication station sounds.
Anyone remember Millenium 2.2 on the Commodore Amiga?

thanks for posting this, for some reason youtube hadn't bothered to tell me about any of this series of videos.

Very interesting though, it looks like he's pretty much mirroring my course and coming up behind me along the New Outer Arm :) Will have to keep my eyes peeled and watch out for him, perhaps even see if he has any pizza he could trade (my supply ran out around 10,000 ly ago, and cheese on toast with tomato sauce just isnt the same :( )

EDIT: Incidentally, on the very unlikely offchance Erimus reads this, if you need a "Fake Shemp" for a bit of footage let me know :)
