What happened to the "Commander Chronicles" series?

Just saw some videos on YT, and it looks very cool! I'd love to see an animated series themed around Elite's lore. Was it dropped permanently?

This sucks doesn't it? I hoped it would eventually become an animated series like Star Wars Clone Wars or Max Steel... Oh well... another opportunity wasted...
