I somehow ran out of fuel the other day (my fault) so I thought it's ok i will use the distress beacon so I went to the right side console to turn it on, only to find it's not there anymore (gutted) so my only option was to self destruct (GUTTED!).
I remember on the earlier betas it was available, and not having had the need to use it just assumed it would still be there (but no) , I thought it was not only a great idea but a necessity as in my situation where it would of been great to send a distress signal out. I'm disappointed if it has been removed for good. I would even pay a random commander a reasonable price for a tow or enough fuel to reach the closest station, there's another great idea lol.
Maybe its possible I couldn't find it if it's been moved somewhere else I just don't know, hope so anyway.
