What happened to the seeker AX missiles?? (as seen in trailer)

There are 2 items so far missing from the trailer for 2.4 (commander chronicles I think was called?)

1. the EMP resistant utility (which we can expect to arrive shortly)

2. Seeker AX missiles, the ones in the trailer appeared to revolve and home into the target. Unless that was just a special effect. these missiles would make Thargoid hunting so much easier and efficient (even with reduced damage they pose much higher effectiveness on mobile targets)

at current the AX launcher only has a dumbfire round, which can be costly to miss with due to it's rate of fire (very slow) not to mention it's turret version is absolutely useless and misses almost all the time.

Thoughts?

Perhaps they'll be coming in the future. It's possible we won't even be getting gimballed mounts for the guns we're working towards now until a later time. I certainly don't want fixed and turrets to be the only options forever. There's a large amount of folks out there who enjoy gimballed mounts and seekers, me included.

Regardless, I'm easily foreseeing one last CG to unlock the "advanced variants" AKA easier to use models.

I see it as an engineered effect, new loot we get from the Interceptor are engineering materials and have in their description "meant to improve anti-thargoid technology and human technology".

Especially the propulsion elements, which is described to be:

Thank God there are no seekers - it's the one saving grace of the terrible ironic new gameplay ie much vaunted new content needs the laziest, dullest tactics in Elite dangerous...

REVERSKI! You couldn't make it up! [haha]

It will be an arms race I'm sure. As we get better weapons, I bet we'll see more formidable Thargoids and wings of them too of course.

Who knows? We may be fighting the wimp Thargoids who aren't the ones perpetrating the dirty deeds.

I'm guessing we'd have got seekers if the CGs had been more successful. Meanwhile, the new CG (and potentially subsequent CGs) will most likely be the delivery mechanism FD choose.

Yes, there is a very large portion of unused materials which I really hope to see in the future! got 30-50 of each type almost so far (apart from ones obtained through killing Thargoids, merciless killing is not my style) ;)

although Fixed missiles take skill to use, we need the seekers for easier engagement (especially if we are engaging multiple targets) I Have a feeling this new Anti thargoid weapon will be an anti thargon buzzsaw. always fun I guess.. :D

Got triple Hyperdicted this morning. one flew off while the remaining 2 stalked me. they were not hostile though, just curious :) even with seekers though, I would have been slaughtered in my corvette against 3...

Synthesis. Incoming. Nice. Well, time to git gud and reverski.

It's also possible that these might have been available if the top tier of the Community Goal had been reached.

We do seem to have already missed out on larger versions:

If these easy mode weapons appear I hope they take a massive hit in ammo capacity, price to pay.
Turrets are ok if you manage your ammo properly and fixed are excellent and not hard to use. Personally I see no reason for gimballed never miss, hell why not start throwing out goids with only 1 heart left by the time you find them.

Maybe that was for the best or else the goids would be swatted by everyone.

That's quite the overkill. I would assume the damage penalty would be quite enough to encourage fixed use. Gimballed mounts miss quite often and suffer from reduced damage. Perhaps a not so massive hit to ammo would suffice? You sound as if a gimballed weapon has kicked your puppy or something.

I'm practicing my fixed aim currently as I want to have more control, but this whole "fixed users master race" type thing I'm currently seeing is baffling. No doubt, you've more skill if you're able to use them but the game shouldn't use that as it's baseline balancing standard. I would have thought turrets would really aggravate those who see gimbal mounts as a crutch.

Disclaimer: I don't believe anyone has currently said anything like "fixed user master race" or anything like that but it's starting to hit that area of condescension with some of these comments I'm seeing.
