What happens to animals that are not adopted?

I observed that there is a countdown set after you put up your animal for adoption. A few times I recieved the conservation credits I had put them for but sometimes I didn't recieve any conservation credit and the animal was also gone from the trade center. So was that a bug or is it if nobody adopted them they are lost?

I'm not sure but sometimes they were back in my trade center after the countdown but most of the time they were not and also received no conservation credits.

They go to a farm on the other side of the country and live happily ever after #animalwellfare.

In all seriousness, I have no idea. I'd expect them to just sit in the trade center again until you put them up for adoption again or put them back in their habitat, but I didn't have enough playtime to see this happen in the beta. Might also be that it had some bugs and didn't work correctly for all animals.

i've always had them stay in the trade center after the time expired, i don't think i ever had one just disappear without being sold that wasn't a actual bug (and the bugs i had was that they were sent to the trade center, but invisible, so couldn't be sold in the first place)

They are returned to the trade centre where you can then try and sell them once more . The idea is it has a time limit of one hour to sell them so that the animal sales do not become totally clogged up with thousands of different animals for sale maybe for days or weeks

This also means you can maybe try and sell them for a lower price if people were not buying it because maybe it was too expensive or too low a quality

I think mine were just available in the trade center so you could release them, place them in your zoo again or replace them on the market for a second (or third time)

I believe they'd just pop back into the trade center, and you'll have to place them back on the market if you'd want to sell them.

If everything is working correctly, the way it should work I am assuming as it makes most sense is, you post your animal up for trade, its up for an hour or so, if it does not get purchased within the time, then the timer expires and it is removed from the online trade market so is to not over populate it and give other people the chance to have their animals seen/purchased, and you can simply relist your animal again if you so wish.
