What happens to exsisting coaster stations?

So were getting new coaster stations next week ...so what happens to the existing ones on our rides is it auto upgraded or do u have to replace it and can I replace it without losing my indoor dark ride coaster. Because I will lose my mind if I cant upgrade the station with deleting the coaster...anyone know? Developers?

No idea... but if that makes you lose your mind, you may need some support when it moves into Beta and/or Release, cos that may very well be a whole new build. Scary thought [ugh]

Thats one of the reasons why Im glad I didnt buy into the alpha. I played it a little at a friends house, but Im happy just watching peoples creations on youtube, and waiting patiently for the full game. Maybe Ill change my mind when i see alpha 2.

Just delete the station and build a new one, it won't delete the rest of the track...... then when you rebuild the new station, you'll have the new station with your old track.......

this is probably accurate, but you might have to fix your queue line and/or any scenery around the original station. So hopefully it wont be a big deal.

The stations didn't look that much different from the original ones we have, I don't think you will have any problems at all. The only thing that might change is the coaster type on the track to one that is allowed for the red or blue tracks, the gates/queue will appear in the correct location.

Here it is:

....We’re working hard to ensure that your save games remain largely untouched by updates to the game, however there are a small number of cases where this isn’t possible if we want to continue adding cool new stuff to the game.

For example, since we’ve added the (awesome) Advanced Move and Advanced Rotate functionality in Alpha 2, you may notice a small number of scenery items will be rotated to a different orientation in parks that you saved in the original Alpha release. This is all part of development, and making decisions for the benefit of the overall game.

The improved coaster stations are another example of park elements that have necessarily changed since the first release, but which make the game way better as a result.

We will try and communicate any major changes with you guys in advance.

So there will be a extra notice i guess.

This happened with Elite Dangerous. Our saved progress was wiped more than once before final release. It is all part of Alpha/Beta testing.......

At least with something like this it will be so much fun starting again with the new tools to help us creat something even more amazing!

That is for sure, but i guess not every Early Bird Player at PC will be aware of that.

At the moment i am confident, that it will need some work, but mostly the older parks will be fine.
(redirecting parts, changing stations, Queues, paths etc.)
At the two press events for Alpha 2 the old park seemed to have been used with some changes.

But then again. We got another 8 weeks coming up. So some might not get bored so easy.

If people didn't expect the game to change significantly in the Alpha stages, I'm not sure what they thought would happen...

I am fully aware that things can go broken or wiped saves so that's why I am not putting in extra effort just yet. Just having fun playing. But to be honest I havent played in at least 1 week or 2... Lack of time and the "omg wow" of the videos and photos just made me want these features and wait. But it is ok, I simply have so much to do now, cram sewing to vend at a convention. But I will for sure *make* time to play phase 2 despite the hectic time. ;)
