What happens to (Loaned) equipment?

I noticed in a few videos I'm watching that people have (Loaned) equipment. I'm guessing this comes from rebuying a ship? (I've fortunately not had to do this yet ).

I also noticed my initial Sidewinder has this kind of equipment. Other than selling for 0 credits, is there any other downside to it? Will there eventually be a cost to pay for it?

It's just the free set of weapons that come with the ship. they are worth nothing and cost nothing (if they are lasers). They are gone once you buy new ones.

Loaned equipment do not have exchange value when you sel them you get nothing when you buy other equipment you pay full price.
