What happens with the shields of the Imperial Courrier?

Hello!
Since the big udpate (powerplay) last friday you might be aware we have new ships, and one of them is the Imperial courrier. Naturally, because i'm a devoted empire player, i take this ship for a ride. Me and my crew, after fullfitting this beauty, we decide to go out for a fight. It was ok, not so great but ok, the firepower is limited, the speed is great, manoeuvrability is ok, and jump range, well not that great for a multirole but the first real thing on this ship was his Shields, damn, it was so great, it was the only real good point of this ship, all the rest was ok to medium/great. But you know his cockpit is damn sexy, shape too... So friday till today, 60 hours in that ship.

And when the update 1.3.0.2 came out (it was wednesday), the first thing i notice was : what the heck, did i remove my shield booster, the shield go down so damn quickly... But the thing is he was still here, all my loadout stay the same all the week. So after look at the patchnotes, i saw nothing about shield nerf on the courrier.

Nobody seems to complain about the shield and i discover peoples don't play at all with this ship... I looked at two fitting website, one of them is an ok fitting website, he had the stats of the 1.3.0.0 and the second is a well up to date fitting website and they don't have the sames stats on shields.

After 60Hours on the imperial courrier, Me and my friends cleary see a difference on the shields before and after the 1.3.0.2, But nothing was mentionned in the patch note about that

My question is simple :

Did any other players noticed any differences before and after the patch on the imperial courrier?

And if any dev or qualified personn can answer the question : Have you modified the shield stats on the imperial courrier, and if it is, why did you not mentionned anywhere on patchnotes?

Not only the Courier I believe. Some other ships seems to be affected too, not hard data but just going by "feel" as you say. Been flying some of my ships for so long you know something "feels" different when FD mucks around with stuff.

But yeah, in answer to your question, I do "feel" that my shields are squishier.

Let me add that it may not be the base shields but more the effects of stacked boosters that seem to feel off.
 
i don't play any other ship except the courrier this week, but if it's really happening on all the ships, why it is not mentionned on patchnotes? it's kind of a big thing...

Same here, my courier felt a little squishier in the shield department than it did a day or so ago.
 
I dont fight in my courier unless i need to so not really noticed it.

I dont really think it lets the ship down. its a multi-role ship having proportional shields to a vulture would be daft. The biggest letdown for me was with my setup i only get 20 cargo which i feel is small for a multi-purpose. Having said that I'm nearing my Clipper and at Lord rank so i can live with it.

The courier has injected new life into the game for me. Loving its looks, its sounds and its speed.
 
Yeah, the thing is, it's a 2M multirole ship, but he do less than a cobra who cost 300 000 creds. yeah it's a good looking ship, but specs are poor for a ship who cost 2M... it's a shame because i'm in love with this ship =)
 
I can't confirm anything, but this probably needs to be looked into. I'm currently flying a Courier as my main ship, so a stealth shield nerf would hurt pretty badly.
 
I've really been giving the courier a go and I just keep getting disappointed. At this point, I think I'm going to strip it down and re-purpose it for courier missions and smuggling. So, I can't say much for the shields.

However, I wouldn't be against an across the board shield nerf. There are so many shield modifiers that PvP has just become a game of pop the shield first. If they could scale back shields, allow for the Power plant to be better protected and improve overall ship damage mechanics I think things could get really interesting and tactical.

Probably just NPC-s were buffed, not only AI but also loadouts.
Was flying vulture and courier and did not notice any big change, courier shield still seems stronger.
 
I have noticed this problem also but did not fill in a bug report because I'm to unexperienced with shields this started Wednesday like the op said
Mine shield strength is 650Mj I have found out today but it is eaten away in seconds
I believe the npc are out of control or something with the shields is wrong

edit i think shields are nerfd

4 a0 boosters and a2 shield
ED Shipyard say is 544,48MJ
Coriolis say 650,13MJ

Elite dangerous say see picture

frags do lots to shields, best kinetic wep vs shields - this is why i've always used them for serious pvp.
 
Hmmm... I've been using the courier since 1.3 release. Played several hours, last night, in crime sweeps with my wing. The only time I ran into trouble where I had to tuck tail and run was when I was getting attacked by two big boys at the same time.

I haven't noticed any differences in shields but I'm not facing PVP players. That could be a big difference.

I haven't noticed any difference. Of course, I am already well used to fighting NPC'S with frag cannons, since they were everywhere in the beta.
