What has happened to HIRES sites?

I make more credits in HiRes than I ever did. Sure I have to reset instance from time to time, but when the big ships come, they come in waves bringing some good bounties.
I've had wing of 3 pythons, couple clippers and a vulture, etc. I make (without KWS) as much as 5 mil Cr in under 1.5 hrs (been keeping track).
Quite often I've had everything from sideys to pythons. Targets are easier to take down than CZ but when winged they are a formidable force.

Edit: Just to clarify, the bounty payouts don't include 20% ALD bonus.

you should find a proper system: medium or low security, major/pristine reserves on rings. it's not that easy to find such a system in the first place (especially if you are looking for system with starport). then you should try it several times, and no need to reset an instance, you can just fly betweeen HiRES back and forth. and collect statistics.

I've found several systems that give good spawns almost each time I enter a RES. one of them I found not long ago, and it provided me with good spawns 5 times in a row. I farmed several millions, returned back, logged off, returned the other day, farmed some more, then made a rare trade loop, some other stuff, came back, farmed more millions... always pythons/clippers.

it's all about exploring the environment...

Just spent two hours between three different HIRES sites in three systems. The biggest ship I saw? A Diamondback Scout. What's going on here? Are there no longer NPCs in large ships? What am I to do in my FDL with no large prey to hunt? Sorta feel like I just wasted two hours.

Yes I agree. I would love a bit more big sized action. I have not seen Clipper, Dropship, Python and Anaconda pirates in weeks.
I only get small fry in RES. No matter what type of RES it is.

Jumping in and out and in again doesn't help me anymore (it was a bit gamey anyway).
I get only eagles, vipers and a few Cobra's and a lot of Adders.

Do what Carro said, Exit to main menu and re-enter. Very quick.
Watch for Vulture or bigger on your contacts screen. Seems if a large ship the first you see, the RES will be flooded with big ships.

As people say, u can reset the instance.
And the high intensity/low intensity is the skill.
In high they will all be master, dangerous etc.
In Low res, they will newer get over expert.. so EZ picking. but also lower bounty

You'll never guess what I found in a res the other day...
a wanted asp after hundreds of reses!, a 60k bounty asp, not just a accidental 400 cred one.
that must mean they are in the spawn pool, but maybe at 0.01%.

Arr! Ye found the ghost of Asper, did yer? Legend has it she trawls the resource sites mournin' her lost cargo! 'Tis a miracle yer even saw that miserable wretch, laddie...!

I see them sometimes, and they are in wing with python or FDS.

I got a wing of 5 clippers in a HIRES last night. The spawns seem to change as you stay in the instance now.

Small fry spawns sometimes throw a few big ships at you and then no more. Big ship spawns sometimes stop and give you Eagles instead.

If someone else enters the RES it seems to change the spawn type too.

i fixed that for you.

any game that requires you to quit and restart in order to get some fun out of it risks the player quitting but not restarting. i think the killer for me was literally falling asleep while waiting for more enemies to spawn. after that happened 3 or 4 times i asked myself "why am i doing this?" - that, combined with the most lucrative missions becoming more rare after 1.3.07* led me to look elsewhere for my enjoyment

i miss the old RESs and all their clunky Anaconda farming

* maybe coincidental, maybe not. but instead of 5 or 6 a day i now see 1 every 2 or 3 days. if i can be bothered to look, that is.

Farming was definitely fun and lucrative, however im pretty content with the changes made. I dont think the devs really expect for players to rely on loopholes for profit. They just expect for people to adapt and find new means of getting rich. Taking on missions can be just as profitable now; and honestly the easy way can get boring fast. If they didnt fix the ease of piling up on credits everyone would be flying around in condas. Like i said, its time to earn your keep.

Missions give you big ships, and the AI is better than typical large ships in RES, I just picked up one mission for 400k and got 270k for the bounty and that took 5 mins to do. yeah sure it's not regular large ships like a RES, but if you can find 3 close systems that give out these mission then you find the missions are regular.

My thoughts exactly.

Well said. I also noticed a sudden disappearance of those 10+ pirate massacre and pirate lord missions which were the only decent ones in 1.3. These days the bulletin boards are flooded with 10+ civilian massacre and celebrity assassination missions. I have only been to RES a few times since 1.3 and went back to my favorite spot in my home system today. It was a decent session, starting with really sporadic big targets and gradually getting more intensity, after about two hours becoming a constant stream of 150k+ targets. Without any PP bonus, I got 6 mil in 2 hours and half, which I consider pretty good, definitely more profitable than missions and more fun.

I really don't understand the logic either of you are referring to when you imply a game is "forcing" you to do something in order to have fun. Other than trading or mining, I don't think bounty hunting should be intended as farming.

My thoughts exactly.

Except it doesnt. Thanks to braboNG assasination missions for 80k requiring novice rank pull python, viper and a vulture.

How many novices do you know that should be taking that down? This is the crux of the issue, the devs that you so revere do not know what scaling is. You throw out your tired opinion that everything should be handed to only you, but not to anyone else. How about you work for peanuts and everyone else make some reasonable credits? Are you taking only the 800 cr missions to fly to some 300k ls station? Its time you earn your keep. Everyone else would like to play the game and have fun.

I dropped into a HIRES last night and had an absolute blast - Wings of Clippers Vipers and Eagles with Dropships and Pythons sporting bounties in the 200kcr+ range.

Sadly, I had to go to bed, but I made 1.5mcr in 25 minutes.

I dont completely understand what your saying but i get your point more or less. Not trying to get into a dispute over something so petty but i suppose its too late for that considering this isnt the first thread addressing the same old tired issue. People are unhappy with the updated res sites. I get that. However like others have attested, plenty of us are still having fun. Im just one of those people suggesting another way to have your fun, which im confused on how about you do that exactly. Is it credits your seeking to have fun? or is it bigger ships your looking to fight? Alternatives have been suggested but i guess whinning to developers and accusing them of being incompetent is easier to do.

Besides, assassination missions are no way to make a living, and are unconnected to the topic at hand.

Just reset it ~10 times and you get endless master + pythons, clippers, and dropships with 100-200k bounties after kws, I have made around 80 million since 1.3 in a hi res, with help of 50% increase in payout from PP. 12 mil in 2 and a half hours is my best payout I average 2.5 mil an hour but after bonus it becomes 3.75 mil.

Edit looked backed at play time to make numbers more accurate

Y'know when I was brand new to the game, the only assasination missions I could ever find were the 150-250k Anaconda missions.
Now? I'm getting 60-80k missions to dispose of flipping eagles. Then there's the occasional 130~200k mission for a Python.
After I got my viper back then I saw nothing but streams of large ships one after another in those RES.

Now? not seen any large ships in RES today, although I'll be trying again soon to see if I can get the now elusive large ship spawn.
Running HICZ at the moment, very profitable.
I'm so close to the Ferdie I can taste it.
