What have you done to the galaxy map?

Why is is suddenly much harder to select a star from a distance?

Used to be that I could click on a star (have a ship stored at one end of a run and a bookmark at the other) a few hundred LY from where I am by zooming out and just clicking it but I no longer seem to be able to? have to type it's name in and get there that way which is annoying and takes longer for no apparent gain i can think of?

It seems that the cursor/information box no longer locks to the selected object - star, planet, station. Hopefully a bug rather than improvement.

whatever they've done to it it's now a pain in VR, worked just fine before but now the rotation skews all over the place and it's quite frankly a load of rubbish. Please revert to 2.2 as it was before, thanks.

I know this is going to sound melodramatic but I think if the map had been like this when I first started playing, I probably would have given up with ED after a few hours.

I just flat-out CANNOT select a jump destination by clicking on it.
The game always seems to think I'm clicking on a system somewhere behind my intended target, often a hundred Ly away.
It's got to the point where I'm currently just typing the name of my intended target system into the search box to select it.
Must be infuriating for somebody who's out in the black, exploring.

In the post-patch week we've earlier had:

1) Insta-death with collissions, regarding of speed.
2) Insta-death due to NPC bug
3) Insta account-lock due to bug

etc. First week after a patch typically has something bizarrely broken. Not an excuse, btw, just some perspective.

Well I had to adjust super sample to even get the icons up to set a route.

Clicking is my problem as well now, I'm in the bubble doing less than 100LY at the moment, so sometimes resort to typing the name of the sytem. If its a painful name, I type one near to it, which improves my chances of being able to select it.

No VR for me, but I imagine lowering super sample and having to type names is beyond "not optimed for VR".

Sounds like NMS and Sean Murrays joke of a nav system/map. Without a doubt the dumbest designed system for a space game in gaming history that was. Then to fix it HG allowed one nav point you could select for yourself that disappears as soon as you leave the map.......just plain LOL. That team has no logical thought process what so ever. Braben is still a genius IMO and will fix these little annoyances in his game because he has a great logical thought process. It just sometimes differs from what we want, or what he thought he could deliver.

I play at 2560x1440 and had the problem of the galmap selection pop-ups being wildly offset.
After trying various supersampling values in the graphics quality menu I managed to get the pop-ups to appear in the correct place, and more reliably.

I eventually settled on SS = 0.75 (was 1.0 originally) and now the galmap is useable. Not sure whether the image quality has changed, so it can't be very different.

Hope this helps.

PS No , the image is definately fuzzier than before the change.
