What home base should I use?

Hi fellow CMDR's.
Been playing for about 2 years now, on and off.
Managed to work through the ranks up to dangerous, tycoon and surveyor. Not pledged any allegiance (yet).
Original home base is LHS1914 (I think, that's at least where my sidey sleeps).
Been buying ships in Diaguandri due to the 15% discount, and present I have stored a Vulture, Python, AspE, Type9 and a FAS. Somewhere at Barnard's Star I have a Cobra Mk IV (never seen it...)
My question is:
At present I store all my ships at Diaguandri and I swap ship for every CG I am doing. Is there a better place to store my ships? I'm planning on buying a fully A-rated Anaconda in the near future. Is Diaguandri the best place for that, or can I find a better spot for all of my little preciousesssssss?

O7

I have ships all over the place for different jobs, my WIP mining Anaconda lives at Diaguandri in fact

I "live" in SOL at Galileo by the moon. There is where I keep my Asp, Cobra III, Python and FAS and my starter ships (Sidewinder, Hauler, Adder, Eagle, Viper III) all live at my first home at the Gidzenko Ring in Chamunda.

EDIT : Galileo is also a white station with the palm trees and such, however it doesn't have good equipment or ships.

Before moving to Sol I operated out of Leesti

I always move work in progress ships to Ray Gateway for the discount though.

At the end of the day it's all about your choice. Where do you feel at home in our galaxy.

When you reach Elite, choose Shinrarta Dezhra as your home. Founder's world, with the space station Jameson Memorial. All ships and all modules always in stock at a permanent 10% discount.

go on a long exploration trip, say to sag A*. When you come back every system in the bubble will feel like it's just next door so you wont feel the need for a home base :)

But if you are doing powerplay it makes sense to move your primary ship location to within that powers territory.

I don't really got a home base per se.

I used to be in Hecate with the brotherhood since that was the first permit I got.

When I was doing PP I moved to Anlave since the fact its the former Federation Navy HQ seemed fitting.

After I stopped with PP I decided to instead spread out my ships.

I still got a ship in Anlave, but I also got ships in Cemiess (where I initially went and worked with imperial slaves)
I got ships in jameson memorial in the founder's world since I am an elite. I had my federal dropship in Fawaol up until recently (its the first and only Giant i am aware of inside the bubble).
Phiagre is home to another ship of mine so is Maridal, and a couple of other seemingly irrelevant systems I have some greater or lesser interest in.]

Edit: I guess after I stopped with PP and spread out I never felt the need for a home base.
The Cerberus plague we had a few months after I stopped with PP also reenforced my aversion to having a home base.

I rather like Lembava with the 15% discounts (even for non-founders and without being pledged to anyone)
Pikum with a Haz RES is only a few ly away.

I have multiple bases in different parts of the bubble.
I have duplication in ships, so I have a FAS, Python and Asp at each base.
I have my large ships generally floating around in the middle on the border between Fed and Imp space ready to go where needed.

I base out of Nu Tauri. I pve bounty hunt and there is a nice station right next to a haz res. The station has good outfitting and ships @ the 15% LYR discount. It's a Fed system and station.

Try Mars High

I live at Zeta Horologii. My Cutter, Conda, Vette, FAS, Vulture, Asp-X, and DBS call it home. It's got a lot of RES sites, controlled by ALD, and it's a well stocked high tech system. Works for me. There is no "best" system.

Get your tycoon rank up to elite and try founders world if you dont have access allready.

I already got the founders world permit (beta backer and lifetime pass owner). What is so special about founders world and where should I go ?

First of all Jameson Memorial station there has every single ship and every single module of the game so you dont have to search for parts on different systems and it also has a 10% discount on everything. So its very easy to try different loadouts on your ships and you can also store there ships completely stripped out when you are not using them to use those credits on other ships. A cutter for example can have an 800 mil loadout. If you are not using it you can put those 800 mil on a conda and go bounty hunting.

Oh and you see many other commanders.

Ah well, thanks for the info. Looks like a cool place to be :)

I would suggest having multiple "homes". There has, on occasion, been times when a plague (or major technical issues) has closed down a station. I can see it now. I have 20 ships parked up at "Razors' Edge" (an made up name), only to find that, when I head in, somebody offloaded a load of UAs there, the station systems have crashed, and I cannot get to my fleet!

If you pledge to a power, it's a good idea to make your home base somewhere in or near their space....I'm pledged to Mahon and that is what I've done
