What if PB is delayed too?

I dont think this happen. The base game and its mechanics have already been proven in the alpha process. Seems to me as an alpha backer that come time tomorrow all the PB's will be mucking about in their ships round now.

time

Was there any specific time given on the Beta release tomorrow? Early morning or late afternoon?

Frontier had the good sense not to promise anything beyond what we already know as Alpha 4. So if anything extra makes it in tomorrow we'll be pleasently surprised, otherwise it's delivered as expected.

The only thing that could throw a wrench into tomorrow's release would be something to do with upscaling the backend infrastructure, but I don't think that's likely.

Its always better to under-promise and over-deliver than the opposite.

Sorry to say there's NO WAY SC can deliver on all the stuff the backers/fanboys want..not in any reasonable time frame. What they want is so complex and so 'never been done' in any other software it would take a team 5 times as big to even get it half way there. No wonder the DFM has suffered so badly. I've worked on games like this that had similar 'pie in the sky' aspirations and unless management is absolutely amazing its just never gonna materialize. They need to focus on the CORE GAMEPLAY which is space combat and make it amazing. Not have 1 team working on it whilst 10 others working on towel simulations and FPS combat. The game wont be around long enough to even fulfill the backers dreams if the core game isn't there.

According to when they released their alpha builds I think they release it approx afternoon.
My guess is somewhere in between 4pm and 7pm GMT.

In general, Frontier releases its achievements in end of afternoon or early evening (newsletter, video dev, peek of the week, alpha etc ...)

Will people freak out as much as they did over in the SC forums? I for one don't think so.

Star Citizen sounds alot like Battlecruiser 3000AD just without thousands of people giving the developer more than $44 million with few strings attached. They've posted on youtube just how bug ridden they still were a few weeks ago before the PAX event. Using an already mature CRYENGINE its understandable if a few backers could be upset and suspicious.
