What if you could Retract Weapons to reset hostility.

An annoying thing is when an ally accidentally shoots you and then stays red until you exit the instance and re-enter. This has multiple negatives; for example, it can make big multi-wing instances really annoying, it can make team-based instances annoying, etc.

What if retracting weapons reset your scanner? That way you could at least remove aggro on friendlies who have shot you but you haven't shot back. Alternatively, maybe shutting off your scanner should reset everyone to green? That'd be fine, too.

The old turn it off then turn it back on again?

Actually I quite like this as long as you and your SLF pilot haven’t caused the issue or responded in kind then this could work but I think there should be a time lag before the ‘hostiles’ reset.

Powering off the scanner or retracting hard points could both be due to other things so it should be both actions together.

So you are suggesting that if I find myself accidentally shooting the wrong target, stowing hardpoints would signal them that it was an accident? Say if I shoot them and within the first 5 to 10 seconds realize and stow weapons, that will stop the cop or friendly from retaliating?

If that is the case, I am all for it. To many times I end up having to go put myself in jail because of a bad hit on the controllers. I especially hate it when you are in the pirate killing grove and everything is going well.

No they were talking of the reverse situation where you get shot accidentally which turns the non wanted ship to hostile in your HUD so your SLF or turrets might attack it and get you a bounty.
The idea is basically to reset your scanner to remove that false hostile indication.
