What in the heck do these mean?

Can someone tell me what those 2 clunks near the end of the video mean? I usually have several of them happen when I first log in but now they seem to happen all the time and I have no idea what they mean.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.

I get those occassionally as well...it seems very random...and I have no idea what causes it.
I think it's a glitch

Definitely sounds like something turning on. Switch off modules and restart until the sound disappears? And if that works please do tell.

When entering / exiting outfitting strange things happen to power management. Essentially your ship deploys hardpoints, so power management kicks in if not everything can be powered up. But at the same time, you seem to be drawing power from the station, so... again, weird things related to power-management, deployed hardpoints and drawing power from the station.'

At least, that's what I think is happening. I could very well be completely wrong here.

Max power to shields. I'm also docked in a spinning station, which is why the shields get the lion's share of the power. Doesn't matter though. It does that no matter how the power bias is set.

LOL! By power management he ment how's your power distribution when having weapons deployed.

This sound you're asking about is restoring your shields after quiting outfitting = after holstering your guns. Looks like you have underpowered you ship with hardpoints deployed and if you don't know what power management is (its not PIP management), google it!

You can set various power distribution scenarios to almost all your modules. If you're not doing it and your power plant has not efficient power to maintain operational all systems when weapons are deployed it will disable some modules of yours to keep the weapons operational, eg. shields.

This sound you're not used to, as shields are regainng its full capacity almost instantly when docked.

Thing is, it happened over and over and over again when I first logged in. It happened when I returned from looking at the galaxy map. And it seems to happen every time I come back to the main screen from reading Galnet. In the past, it will usually give a couple of clunks when logging on, but that's it. I come back from outfitting, I've heard what appears to be shields coming online and it doesn't sound like that. This could be solved by a simple explanation from FD. Don't have to say why it does this sound, just what it means.

I used to have this issue with "opening system map" sound repeating itself for all eternity, until jumping to next system. Maybe it is something similar. If it is an issue with how spaceships power up, there are two steps to learn all about it: CQC and a Vulture without overcharged power plant.

Doesn't sound like power restored or shield powering up and its visible from the outfitting screen there is more than enough power even with hardpoints deployed anyway. People just need to watch the video.

I don't think I've ever heard that sound in the game before. That said, I haven't been to the equipment screen with an armed ship since the update since I'm doing exploring. It definitely appears tied to the drop of the guns and subsequent rotating to the default angle. Weird.

I'm going with metal hitting metal stops. Notice how the first sound occurs exactly when the multi-cannons reach their lowered position. The second sound when they reach their forward position. I'm wondering of you remove or store one does it make the same sound retracting back into the ship?

Aren’t those sounds from EDMC?

I think you're right. Not completely sure yet. I disabled EDMC and logged in. No clunking sounds. Logged out, ran EDMC and then logged in. Didn't get the clunks, but did get a background sound that sounds somewhat similar to that sound. Just not quite as strong and metal on metal. It had been a while since I had logged in. Could be EDMC was updating prices.
