Hardware & Technical What is better for Saitek X-55? In game key binding or Saitek profile Software?

I have just purchased Saitek X-55 Rhino Hotas. And it's just great. I cant understand what people complaining about it's big for small hand. I don't have big hand, and it's OK for me. I feel like a king using this stick.

I even gone further, investing in a TrackIR 5. :D Some buttons need or it's just fine that it's a little out of exact range. Anyway, I think it's a great stick, with plenty choice of buttons. Anyway, the problem about reach it's just so much further with a keyboard. That was what I and many used before, together with either mouse or a simple stick or joypad.

But here is my question. It's look like many just use in game key binding in Elite Dangerous, and complain about the Saitek X-55 software. Why do they not use the X-55 software that came with Saitek. Then they also get to use this mode, 3 of them total. That just stretch the possible key binding even further.

I have not yet begin to use it, but after watching this video I'm just wonder, is it so bad as some people say? There where also even one in this forum. He had binded one of the switches on the Hotas to automatic request for docking request. Do it again, and it cancelled the docking request. That is a nice action for the Hotas in game.

So my question is: Is the Saitek software so bad? Here is the video that makes me wonder.

Edit: The link to the video from frooglesim is in the next post. Could not post the link because I was new on forum. It's a rule for new users.
