Hey guys, I've been out in the void for quite some time and came back to the bubble to come across a CN Bootis II Gordon - Class Hauler. I may be behind due to my travels on what's new. Google didn't immediately reveal anything either.

One of a huge number of capital class haulers trawling the galaxy.
A lot more out there, below is a sample of some of them. The bulk carriers, tankers and haulers don't have docking capability, you can scan them/raid them/protect them from pirates. Flight operation and prison ships have docking capability with limited outfitting and shipyards.

It'a megaship - there are thousands. You can scan them, loot them, and find scenarios at them. There are many variants..
Am I wrong to find it sad that our pilots google anything at all rather than flying over to see what something is? Are we becoming that cowardly or lazy?
The golden age of discovery ended about 3 years ago. I would say, just give it up, but I won't.
I normally unlock an unknown target and drop out around 40km away. I did google Relay Station PSJ-17, very glad I did before dropping in, would advise others to do the same.
I sat inside one of the little passages in my Dolphin in that thing while hostiles buzzed around outside trying to figure out how to get a shot at me. Was pretty amusing, especially when I'd plink them as they passed by, and they'd plow into the station. Couldn't get any to do any critical damage to themselves - that would have been too funny. Once I was tired of watching them, I shot out of the end and into Super Cruise before they could turn around.
There's another one of those too, I can't remember where, but did the same sort of thing - sat inside of it, watching NPC's buzz around like turdflies. Kind always wanted to go back to one of them with a combat ship and see if they ever run out of enemies.
It's a megaship. Its name is the "CN Bootis II". It's class is a Gordon-class Hauler, a freighter. It "belongs" to one of the minor factions present in the system, to give the minor factions something else to fight over other than stations. If "your" faction goes to war, you might be called to defend it - or to attack it, if it belongs to your enemy.
