Imagine you're an adventurer, wielding a sword, longbow, magick staff, whatever.

You and your comrades have climbed up through a mountainside forest, and ahead of you, lies a smoldering crater. Bodies of knights and soldiers sprawled across the field, goblins picking at the remains.

You and your friends go charging into the centre, and hordes of the blasted creatures start swarming upon your party. Swords clash, arrows snap, spells cast.

After hours of battling goblins, they start to retreat. You and your comrades are exhausted, but then, you hear a thunderous roar from above.

A huge, winged creature comes from above the ridge, flames bellowing from its nostrils. Your party gets together, and one last time ready their weapons. You point your blades to the dragon, and let out a cry of rage as you charge towards it.

This is basically what power metal is, and is why it's my favourite genre.

How would you describe your favourite?

This is a song from a side project but I wanted to let you try it. You really start to get a feel for this guys vocals.

Thanks dude. Will listen as soon as the house is quiet. Forums on my mobile right now, and my YouTube is running on Xbox.

Famalams are shouting at each other lol. I'm just hiding. :p

Power Metal is when Live Action Role-Play goes beyond the point of no return...

For all it's cheesyness I do actually like this stuff. Came across these guys through Alestorm (Pirate metal, of course, because why not?)

I have not clicked on the link as it's late, and I'm without headphones.

But I'm guessing it's Gloryhammer? Oh if it is... Love those guys. :)

Ooh, good guess.
Yes, they are great fun. The Space: 1992 album has been a permanent fixture in my car's four-disc player for easily a year now. The Apocalypse song is a crescendo of epic that calls for the volume dial to get wound up (and the cruise control on to avoid a throttle wind-up to 130mph on the M3).

Even if it does have some lyrical lolwuts? like 'the cosmic rage of astral dwarves from Aberdeen...'

Thought so. I guessed it was them from Alestorm.
