What is Stock 2 MMU 1109?

It isn't a procedurally named system (compare it with its neighbours).

Is it real? Does it have any significance?

Stock 2 is an open cluster. I expect that MMU is an abbreviation for a star catalogue, making the system in question number 1109 in the catalogue. I can't find that abbreviation on this list of catalogues though.

Ah, here we are. Certainly a real thing. Doesn't say what the MMU means though.

Ah again, looks like it's the initials of the people who catalogued it MERMILLIOD J.C. , MAYOR M., UDRY S.

The other ones around don't seem catalogued, which is weird. But I did think it was a real one, just usually they are the high luminosity stars that are catalogued (as we can see them), when this one is rather... run of the mill.

Yah, beats me - it's strange what they've included, like the occasional lines of unremarkable stars with some lengthy 2mass designation. Did you visit it and notice anything unusual?

It has a single icy planet orbiting and nothing else. I stuck around for a while and nothing turned up.
