What is taking so long on these fixes?

Really guys, bugs reported before the game even released are still in the game? Stop adding stuff until you fix the things you break.

Load up galaxy map > navigation > click box to type system name(notice you can type) > close galaxy map
Alt tab out of the game > go back into the game > load galaxy map > navigation > click box to type.

Easily replicated every single time. Good luck alt tabbing out to use a trading tool due to not being able to use the system search when you come back in game resulting in having to restart.

Don't use a trading tool and you don't have the problem :)

proves you can't please everyone......

But to keep it on topic.... that Bug you typed out is very hard to follow.....

are you saying you search in the galaxy map, close it and reopen it, and you have to search again? well... yeah of course you would, you closed it.

/confused

Plan your nights travelling before starting game that way you don't have to leave game till the end of the night. It's what I'm doing this week to grind the rares so I can get an ASP. :)

You do know you can set the game into borderless window. This makes alt-tabbing easy and efficient if you alt-tab all the time.

It seems, reading between the lines, that ALT-TABing out of the game prevents you from typing into the Navigation box on the Galaxy Map when you ALT-TAB back. Probably due to not running in a window.

ACK - Ninja'd!

i am saying that if you load the game up and try and use the navigation box in the galaxy map then it will work. As soon as you alt tab that box you type in is now non usable until you restart the game. People above have mentioned that it should fix if i change to borderless windowed mode. That being said i should not have to change my viewing mode to fix a bug.

I have no idea what ALT TABing is or why it is needed - if I want to come out of the game to do something else like check close by rares locations or visit the wiki or whatever I press my windows button.

Likely it doesn't take that long to fix, but it's probably a low priority so they haven't actually gotten to the fixing part.

I respectfully disagree. A bug that has an easy workaround without any negative side effects, is a bug that does not urgently require fixing. And really, borderless window mode is SO much friendlier when you ALT-TAB, that you're going to be better off all around by switching modes. Like, the primary difference between fixed mode and borderless window, is that borderless window is tolerant of losing focus.

Edit: just wanted to say that apparently I was really liking commas when I wrote that.

OP: were you part of the beta process? I was, and I recall the dev team creating the borderless window mode, as well as the window mode period, in order to allow just this sort of activity (i.e. being able to let the game run while checking something in the internet or using another computer program), in response to this very issue. The original client mode (i.e. full screen), which is still available, was not and still is not very amenable to using ALT-TAB.
.
So, in other words, the bug was fixed by the dev team via implementation of the windowed and borderless windowed mode options. Run your game that way, and *poof* the bug is solved. :D
