What is the best Lee Wrong Rui station for outfitting?

General outfitting stuff is number one.
Ships are secondary, since, well, I don't mind flying somewhere to buy a ship. But Modules would be really nice to just buy in one spot.

Ray Gateway in Diaguandri is independent... no?!?
A system's superpower alignment has nothing to do with its powerplay status - powerplay is an extra layer added on top. There's a little crosstalk (certain government types can provide small discounts to fortification costs that make certain control systems more attractive to different powerplay leaders if the exploited systems are the right government types, but it's not a huge amount) but the two are largely independent of each other. If a system is controlled or exploited by a power, then it has effects that occur regardless of government type unless the power specifically has an effect that is superpower-dependent, such as Hudson's effect of increasing security in federal systems but decreasing it in others.

Ray Gateway should be fine

I just use EDDB.io to specify what I want and then go to the nearest station that matches.

You can specify the Power and at the top put in the modules you want. Then enter your current location in "Reference System" and it will spit out all the locations that have/had what you're looking for. Occasionally you'll get a result that may have changed and you'll have to go to the next station, but most often it's pretty up to date.

I know about EDDB.IO and Inara.CZ

But the quest is to find the station with the most complete inventory, so I don't have to tab out and waste 10-15 minutes each time.

That game already wastes too much time without that...

I guess you'd better go for Jameson in ShinDez then, afaik all li yong rui ports don't have all stuff.
I generally only buy hulls and very expensive stuff there like c8 optionals, the rest I get in Shin.

So, what I think you're saying is, that even if Ray Gateway is independent, they will give RUI's 15% discount on ships and modules, as long as the system is part of RUI's systems?

Now different people get different discounts at Jameson, depending when and for what you handed money over to FD in the early days.
I'd essentially pay more if I bought stuff at Jameson.
Given the time lost to the money grind, when measured in hours and minutes, it might be worth it to fly around for some things, at least ^^

Not for me for a measily 5% to be honest.
But everyone as he/she likes :)

I stick around Diaguandri 'cause it's a nice player hub with a decent amount of traffic to chat to rather than being a complete backwater, but it doesn't really have the numbers in open to make serious ganking worth the effort while places like Deciat and Shin exist. Not that I don't go to Deciat and Shin when I feel like a rumble, but if I'm there to buy and outfit a ship and test loadouts I'd rather avoid the hassle.

Correct. That's one of the motivations behind some of the BGS work I've been doing in the area - some ships are only available from anarchy or superpower-aligned stations and the number of imperial and alliance factions in LYR space is extremely limited, making their ships difficult (or even impossible, in the case of the challenger) to find under the discount.

Availability of modules from stations is variable, just like the Market, so you'd have to check every time you wanted to buy something anyway - which makes your entire question kinda pointless.

But... there are stations that have generally better outfitting options than others and it is a consideration when picking a home port. Especially if you're the sort to re-outfit depending on what missions are available. If your home stocks passenger cabins, for instance, you won't need to keep any in your storage space in case you later need to swap them out to take a mission. Likewise with mining gear, why store it if you can pick out a home base where you can just buy it as and when you need it? What if you don't quite have enough cargo space for a delivery, but you're carrying a collector controller you won't need - does your home carry every size of cargo rack?

When it comes to being able to take a mission, having those things right here and now can make a big difference compared to it being a jump away. If it was really such a "pointless" question, then there wouldn't be people specifically travelling to particular stations for the sole reason that they're known for their outfitting selection.

My home port actually has very little in the way of module choice and everything to do with Mission choices.. It does always have a large variety of missions available - decent module selection is about 30lys away.

Except that with variable availability and pricing, as it is, the OP would still need to check for both.. What if you accept a mission based on the thought that a module that is usually available, isn't? Situations like that would require you to either check EDSM/EDDB/Inara etc or actually check the Outfitting screen first.. But you've kinda missed my point, how do you know where to buy things? I'm guessing that like me, you do/did the necessary digging, you didn't expect someone else to hand you the info all neatly giftwrapped?

OP, if you are so time poor that you don't have the time to spend 15 minutes to answer your own question, perhaps you need to reevaluate some things in your life - or your attitude, because something is out of whack.

If you have noting better to contribute to the question than berating a new player for asking other players to help fill a gap in their knowledge, then its your attitude that's out of whack.
