What is the best way to earn a reasonable amount of credits?

Hello my fellow Commanders,

I've been play this game for a few weeks and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. In the beginning I managed to get a nice jump start on my career by selling rares and eventually I was able to get a Cobra Mk III. So, for the past week, or so I've been doing random missions and killing random (wanted) NPCs.

I've done some trading, netting about 100k and hour. I've even attempted some mining, although I believe I failed miserably at it. So I decided to ask for some advice, I KNOW their are plenty of multi millionaires in our galaxy flying ASP and higher. My question is how? How did you manage to make so much money, give me points, tips, a place to start.

Trading rares and stumbling across wanted Anacondas for a Cobra.

Find a system with a pristine metallic planetary ring and a nearby station, and you're set to make 500k per mining trip.

The money is there to be made. Keep persevering.

With trading you're on the right track. If you can take on Elite Anacondas, that should earn you more than 100k/hour, but bounty hunting doesn't scale and as soon as you can afford a bigger cargohold, it's trading, trading, trading to the point that every other activity is rendered meaningless in terms of credits. If you can not take on Elite Anacondas yet, try paying a visit to a Resource Extraction Site for bounty hunting, though it'll depend on luck whether or not you'll be earning much. If you come across mostly Sidewinders, exit and re-enter the instance a few times. If the location stays bad, try a different one.

Keep doing what you are doing, look out for the missions with no outlay but good returns, its all well and good being offered 50K to return goods but if they cost you 30K you are risking your own money. See if there are same system missions which an be lucarative. There could also be trade routes between same system stations.

There is no legitimate quick win, it all takes time.

plot a route based on your ships cargo space and run it about 100 times. It's tedious, monotonous, boring, whatever, but the pay is worth it imo. It really is the best way until you get a big ship with 200+ cargo that would probably outpace rares by then with profit per hour.
Hopefully they will help out other professions in the future.

So I'll run my brief lifetime synapses.

When I first got ED, I ran into rares. I did a few rare runs (prior to the nerf) and managed to get 300-400k in a day or so for my Cobra MK III
Once I acquired my Cobra I continued to do small trading runs, I branched out with missions and eventually I began to bounty hunt
Currently, I've been hunting Elite Anacondas for about 150-190k a pop and I've been doing Extraction Site hunting also, as you already mentioned

I unfortunately, some how managed to make a double thread and as I said in that thread, I was under the impression I was doing something wrong. Apparently, that conception is wrong, I am on the right track, but I need to focus more on trading.
