Hi, what is the current situation about potential Elite novel writers please? I presume that the £4,500 "Writers' pack" has now finished?

I'm an amateur writer who has been struck by an idea! Is there now a place where the canon lore and novel guidelines can be found? Is there a place to ask questions? I gather Gollancz now has the rights, but I'm sure Frontier need to be in on the process at some point as well.

And of course, if the answer is "don't bother unless we commission you" it would be best to find out soon!

The situation is that Frontier have the rights and Frontier have made no move towards commissioning additional fiction in any form as yet.

Many people have posted proposals and ideas for new content. I would suggest the matter is a game of patience and could be ultimately unrewarding. Speaking as a writer, I would suggest you file your idea and move on to something else until such time as Frontier elect to talk about such things.

Ah Darth Stroud, we meet again! Last time was a while ago on Youwriteon... haven't been back for a while, how's it doing, and how are you doing? I kindle-published "Space Expectations" but the death of my father rather disrupted the promotion/publication campagin; have a sci-fi Arthurian novel I should be submitting more often than I do.

May still do something and post it here for fun, especially when I really should be doing something more useful!

Sorry to hear about your Dad, that's rough. Totally understandable that it'd knock you sideways with your writing.

As for me. Things are okay thanks. Doing a couple of podcasts, writing a lot. Had some set backs recently, but working through them.

If you ever want to pop on Dataslate and talk about books, let me know.

Thanks. I'll check out the podcasts and Dataslate. What are the odds of that guy being a professional voice artist!?

Think I might take a shot at an Elite story anyway and post it here, just for fun!
