Engineers What is the fastest way to become friendly and allied in a new system?

Title says it all folks. Google or searching this forum showed grinding rank in "empire" etc but I would like to know the fastest way to get to allied so that I can krank quests with high paydays.

Thank you!

Try dumping a whole load of exploration data, claim a load bounties\bonds or do a lot of trading in the system.

What Chilla said. Missions is probly the slowest way to gain rep.

Lol, omg really? How stupid of me. Bounties krank up rep? I love combat but there aren't any rings in the system.

1 - any way without rings to turn in bounties and gain rep in the system without rings?

2 - when I turn in the bounties do all of the different people on the mission board in the system go up in rep equally?

Thanks

Depends on the mission. Charity missions usually give pretty good rep... because you give them money (or commodities).
There should be a rep increase indicator on the mission.

Edit: Killing wanted NPCs who are aligned with the faction you're trying to get friendly with is counter-productive.

Fastest way would be trading if you have a Cutter. Maybe 10 trips or so and you are BFFs.
Second I'd put bouty hunting. The only problem with that is that all other factions in the system will be        at you because you'd be blowing up their ships.
Combat bonds get a third place. Ships in CZs are tougher to kill and don't pay as much as bounty hunting.
Exploration data worth doing if you have nothig better to do. You won't get allied with a faction after exploing for one day.
And the loser is missions. Stacking missions is an exausting task on its own.

It's by far not as good as RES, but the nav beacon is a reasonable place to do some bounty hunting. I used this method to get my Sirius permit.

No, only the one who issued the bounty. That's usually the ruling faction in the respective system for ships showing up as "wanted". To get bounties from other factions you have to scan your targets with a kill-warrent-scanner before destroying them.

Also note that the factions whose ships you destroy won't be very happy with your actions so your rep with them will go down.

It all depends if the faction you want to ally with is the controlling one. If so, exploration data, trading and bounty will move you up quickly. However if the faction is not controlling any system you have to go the slow mission way, unless the faction is at war or civial war and you can fight in CZ.

So this guy above recommended using a cutter to trade and increase rep.
Why the cutter? Won't my anny do a good job? Also, do I just trade for Max profit and bring the goods back to sell and then every delivery without a mission increases all the local rep guys?

Lol, man I'm a veteran gamer and still don't know so much about Ed. Guess family life shows me down. Slows....* thanks for patience with my simple questions.

Sell stolen goods if they have a black market, rep gains are based off profit and stolen goods are all profit so you can usually do it in one go.

Anaconda will do but you'll need to do twice as many trips as you would in a Cutter.
Just sell stuff for maximum profit. It's the profit that counts. Every time you sell your rep goes up. If it doesn't show immediately then relog.
You cold also try mining. You get 100% profit from mining but I find it more time consuming than trading. You can always sell the stuff that you've dug up even if they don't want it.

Oh, and by doing so you only gain rep with a controlling faction. To gain rep with all other factons in a system you will need to trade/bounty hunt/explore/whatever at their own stations. The factions that don't have a space station or an outpost will most likely have a planetary base or they will simply be from a different star system. E.g. in order to get allied with Crimson State Group that is present in Shinrarta Dezhra I went to their home system Lugh and did trading there.

To gain reputation with a minor faction, all you need to do is anything that makes a profit at a station that this faction controls. Bounties, combat bonds, trading, smuggling and exploration all work.

If the faction doesn't control any assets, you are stuck doing missions. Though I guess that passenger mission will also work.

Try not to kill ships belonging to the faction you want to gain reputation with. Also don't get fined at their stations.

Thank you for the great advice although some problems arise from the fact that I'm using an anaconda and I can't land at any of the stations because of the size
