I tried to get a multicrew session with a friend of mine yesterday so he could fly my Krait's fighter. He's relatively new.
He was in my system so I clicked on his icon in the Comms panel (the one in the upper left corner, where you get your emails). Under his name was an option to "Invite to Multicrew". I clicked on this, it made a beeping noise, but nothing else happened. I've used the "Invite to Wing" option multiple times and it has always worked.
Next I opened up the main Multicrew menu, where you select the type of activity, and found the "Invite to MultiCrew session" selection there. Doing this, switched me into the PS4's main interface where I sent a PSN message to him.
He got the message, selected Accept. At this point, I got a "Waiting for Player" message on my HUD. It would sit there for a few minutes and then I'd get a COVAS voice message like "Holome Signal Disrupted" and my friend would get a disconnect notice.
At this point, we both had been playing in a Wing for over an hour without issues so it doesn't appear to be a network issue. (we had quit the wing before trying multicrew).
Which of the options, the in-game invite or the PSN invite is the method that actually works?
