I am exploring in the Wredguia sector and this thing in the distance keeps distracting me.
i have tryed to look it up in the gallaxy map, but cant seem to find it.
Anyone knowes what it is?

Its not in the system i am in.
Have the ADS.
That thing keeps showing up in all the other systems, so it must be somewhere far away.

Difficult to make out from the screenshot but my immediate guess is that it's one of the visible galaxies outside our own.

The visible galaxies i can find out here and see in the galaxy map. But not this one.
Well, there was a story by Stanislaw Lem, polish genius and visionary (he wrote "Solaris", he came up with the idea of nanotech in 1950s, and Philip K. used to say that its impossible that someone so smart exists, it must be KGB provocation, lol) in the Tales of pilot Pirx series.
The pilot was on a long range patrol in a far away place in the galaxy, where lots of pilots have been lost before. He was about to return to base, when he noticed "a small white object". It seemed to stay in the same place in space, in front of the ship. The pilot changed the course, the object would move on the screen towards the centre of his view, with some delay. He started to accelerate in its direction and could observe, that he is getting closer (as the object seemed to grow), but after a time it stopped growing, as it was running away from our pilot! Intrigued and excited, as that would be the first contact with alien life, he pursued. For days, nothing was changing. As he was running low on fuel he decided to stop the chase and go back to the human space. To his surprise, first the object started to get smaller, as he was leaving it behind, but after some time it started to grow again, as IT WAS CHASING HIM!!! Ok, he stopped- the object stopped changing the size as well- he was just keeping his distance! Go towards it- it grows for few seconds, then seems to keep the distance. Go away from it- first its becoming smaller, then its chasing our pilot, keeping the same distance every time!
What should our pilot do? Go back to human space, bringing the thing with it? What if its an alien spy? Also, maybe i can still catch him?
I dont remember the whole story, but in the end the object was just a small drop of "space resiliant" fluid on the windshield. The force of inertia was making it move along the windshield, making it bigger (flatter) when the ship was accelerating and smaller when moving the other direction...

I moved about 500/600 Ly and now its showing some more coller.
Lem was a wonderful writer. The Futurological Congress and Fiasco...well, everything he wrote actually was exceptionally well written and thought provoking; no good guys /bad guys, just huge concepts delivered with flawed humanity.
B-but Arthur C. Clarke... And Asimov...
Both great thinkers and I love Asimov' stories but that man could not write decent dialogue had his life depended on it.
Lem is in his own category of awesome though

Its something outside out own galaxy. I thought it might be a nebula myself, so tried to track it down. I found when i zoomed out really far on the galaxy map, i could see it, and it was well outside the galaxy. So its either another galaxy or something else.... maybe a slowly incoming Vogon ship
