What is this blue blob. The red arrow is just pointing to it to make it easier.

Could be a planetary nebula, could be the infamous blue dot on the skybox, which is another galaxy. Try looking in its direction on the galaxy map, and if you find no nebulae, then it's the latter - and it's time to drink!

Hi :)

"What is this Blue blob?"

Are there any blue coloured gas giants in the system you're in?
From your pic it looks oval so it's probably not but pictures can be deceptive. I've just left a star port and strangely enough right in front of me is something similar, but 'my' blue blob is a gas giant in the system, though it's more circular.
Jack :)

I don't know if there's an easier way to do this, but what I do when I see something strange in the skybox is to start selecting systems in the galaxy map around my position and checking how close it is to the detail in the skybox. I hone in the direction of the detail this way, trying to select a system matches the direction as well as possible until I find one that's as close to the same direction as possible, and then I just check in the galaxy map if there's something visible in that direction from my position.
