I bought an diamondback explorer the other day and set it up for exploring and when I went out about 1000ly I did not find anything. Have they shut it down and if they have are they going to start it again. I like exploring! Also how can I take an screen shot outside my ship so I can use it as wallpaper? I just love this game.Great work FD!!!!!

What are you expecting to find?
You can find systems with stars and black holes and planets and moons and peculiar stars and, er, that's about it.
<CTRL> + <ALT> + Space (the key, not the big black thing full of stars) gets you external view, then use speed up/down to zoom in/out and pan/tilt etc. Same key combo takes you back to normal mode.
I just returned from a 2+ week voyage, same distance; make about 6M Cr, 5M from exploration and about 1M from finding a pristine metallic - returned with 8T gold, 26T platinum and 30T palladium.
What do you mean, you "did not find anything"? Am assuming you're used to honking the horn for exploration etc.?
I think you might have a fundamental misunderstanding about what exploring is....
I can't remember what the default is, but check you key bindings for 'Classified Camera Toggle'. I've bound mine to 'P'
Pressing this in game will enable you to fly outside the ship.
F12 will take a screen resolution screen grab.
Alt + F12 will take a high res screen grab (95MB bitmap)
These should then be saved in ../My Pictures/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous
this will come in handy for my trip im gonna take out to Sag A
