What is up with exhibits?

I rarely have a problem with getting my habitat animals fed. The exhibits on the other hand is another thing and it seems to have gotten worse since the latest patch. I regurarly get notifications that my exhibit animals are hungry. But when i try to click the "call keeper" button, nothing happens, I can press it multiple times but it doesn't turn green. I usually have 2-3 keepers for 4 exhibits, at least until they become more trained, cus when I had one they just complained about having to much to do. But when I locate one of the assigned keepers they are just walking around and their workload says low or average. They usually don't react until the poor animal is close to dying of starvation (usually around 5% of the food indication) and it seems I can't do anything about it. Is this "working as intended" that the animals have to be near death for the keepers to react? And why doesn't the Call keeper button work anymore?? I mean, why do you even get the notification if you can't do anything about it?
 
If the call keeper button doesn't work then it's something that should be posted to the issue tracker. Might be something that was accidentally removed in a patch, I've never had to use that button.

Keepers will still need to go to the keepers hut to prepare food for exhibit animals so try to keep them near the huts you use for a habitat. You can also hire a keeper and change their work roster to only tend to exhibits and not worry about habitats.

I have two big keepers huts in close proximity to the exhibits, and all my keepers in the area have workzones (consisting of 4 exhibits, one large keeper hut and a staff room). And the keepers in question was not on their way to the keepers hut, they were just "On a walk". I did not however turn of the "clean/feed habitat" buttons, since there are no habitats in their workzone. Will try that and see if it works :)
 
Yeah, exhibits call keeper button doesnt work sometimes, seems random (some of mine do it all the time, some occasionally, some never). Fix is to move the exhibit and then cancel move (press escape), button will then work. I havent reported the issue, because it is not my job.......
