Engineers What is your current opinion of Engineers `?

For me, there's some really good things in 2.1. Stuff like traffic controll and the new mission system are welcome addidtions.

The main course 'Enigneers' though is something that really disgusts me.
The RNG material collection, the aimless wandering searching for materials.
The RNG rolls for crafting, ending up with stuff that's even worse than the base module.

I really dont understand how FD keeps getting it completely wrong with allmost every patch.
Powerplay added nothing for me.
Wings added nothing for me.
CQC added nothing for me.

Horizons is a good concept, but the buggy is not fun to drive, material collection is meh and the fact that again there's no persistence and RNG rules supreme really turns me off.

The frontier devs seem like a nice bunch of people that I've grown very fond of in the past three years.
I can't help feeling though that a lot of aspects of Elite Dangerous would have been a lot more to my liking with a different team of people.
The choice to make it a multiplayer game and the over-reliance on proc gen and rng lead to a static, boring universe.

I'd love to see more adventure, unique locations, rewarding progression, etc.
Right now it's all so static and sterile.

Without multiplayer we could have had persistence and seamless space travel. Oh well, that will be for another game then. Not that I don't like ED, it is just that I feel it was hamstrung by Multiplayer. Anyways, what's done is done and ED is the closest to a space sim we got in recent years so I'm taking it.

I like this engineer update not to mention a very a nice addition to the game. For me every little modification make my ship unique and it's part of the fun. But i am not focusing only on them, missions are great as well. I blaze my own trail it's all that matters to me.

I think it's a good depth add-on. It has me stopping at USS now, which in my 18 months of playing, I rarely did. It also is keeping me occupied in RES as well, providing a good break between constant combat as I now stop to grab those rare materials.

It also gives me reasons to go planetside to random bases - not only for the significant Ops Rewards (or whatever they're called), but for the data you can get from data points. I'm not in any rush for materials or upgrades. I've done a few, and will get to them when I get to them. Still trying to A-rate my Conda (which, after 18 months you'd think would be done....)

IA in a combat zone OK.
IA in other open activities is a pain.
New missions are more fun but still need some polish and more diversity.
NPC faces looks really poor. Lighting
NPC faces take way to long to display. Really
Glide is a pain now.
Engineers progression is still buggy and near more polish.
Modifying it's ship is cool.
NPC too hard for trading low spec ships, very unbalanced gameplay there.
Planet surfaces are better for rocky but icy still looks blurry and poor textured in mid range distance.

So in a conclusion 2.1 still need a lot of polish and bugfix.

Engineers brings many improvements to the visual information, the 3d and ideas to improve your ship are very good, many good things.
But in practice it does not work.

I stop playing the game for the following:

1- rare materials have long to find them and are necessary to upgrade your ship.
(I could never find mercury in a week using all kinds of information)

2- Most missions give reward (Kill Skimmers or Goliaths) do not work or reach the enemy bases do not appear, even to destroy its entire base.

3- The gameplay is frustrating and NPCs are OP, I'm a player PVP and yet I had to jump more than once with my fer de lance, that never happened.

4- There is no way to save our office or surplus materials therefore have to waste your valuable cargo and everything becomes more complex.

5- I'll come back when there is a way to go get the minerals or improve this.

6- Spend my time writing in the forum an idea that many liked, but did not get any comment from Frontier about our hope that can be done in the future.

If none of the first 5 points are not solved in the next update, I think of Frontier as a mediocre company. to sell something that does not work or is not finished and ask for reimbursement.

Since the season is a lie, continue with a lousy gameplay, they do not listen to your buyers and make consumers buy expansions in the hope that something better.

Unfortunately that's my opinion for now and I really want to change, I really like to spend my time playing than writing in the forum. But it's not like that.

I will wait for you or to arrange the release of NO Man SKY is released.
A future or think of buying another season and definitely not recommend it to anyone.

I am not stupid.

I am having a lot of fun with 2.1.

Hell: there are some issues needs to be investigated, rng need to be revisited, some missions needs to be fixed but in general I am having fun...
