What just happened!? Killed by station for no reason?

Why would he have to slip into that station? I'm assuming this is a local bounty so why couldn't he go to a starport in a different system and dock as normal. Then he could buy a sidey and fly back and let them kill him.

It was a clue that "a" ship, possibly small, not necessarily a player, might have been in collision with the OP. An Eagle with 10% hull remaining seems rather specific.

It's been reported many times that players are doing this. It happened to me at Sothis 2 days ago - player in an unshielded ship deliberately rammed into me.
Luckily there's been plenty of advice on this forum to not speed when seeing other players at stations, so that player just killed himself and not me.

Thanks all. Got to a station, grabbed a cheap sidey and got blown up which cleared the Bounty. Back on track now.

Slip into station. Then buy sidewinder and let them kill you.

Do that ^^

Or go one system over buy the sidey jump in and make sure police or station kills you, not you ramming the station

The death screen will say killed by X.....and your bounty is gone.
