Here I was doing a routine stroll through the Lave system, found an unidentified signal and went to it, only to find out there was an NPC Anaconda sitting there waiting for it's next victim. It swooped in front of me and fired some kind of giant orb slowly making it's way to my ship. BOOM! One shot and my Cobra's hull was down to 22%, yet I managed to escape at 7%. Anybody know what gun that was?

As the guys above said, seems you got acquainted with a plasma accelerator bolt.

They are really, really nasty, and a single shot is quite capable of making your life truly miserable.

I know from experience (as in, being shot by them).

Aye I was in an A-kit viper and I was unlucky enough to get hit by one of these (I can usually dodge them). Shields knocked out and hull down to 60%. By the time I bugged out, I was at 30% and I think my windshield cracked
