I had a colleague like that once. It's a Methane Dwarf according to the galaxy map and wikipedia
Don't like the look of those emissions!![]()
Apparently there's a white dwarf in CM Drago which is in the available systems. Not sure I can reach it in a Viper though. Anyone been?
you look awfully low on fuel in that vid. one way trip old chap?
I had a colleague like that once.
Their emissions were pretty spectacular as I remember.

Hi folks,
The "emissions" around this dwarf star are actually the result of a spot dimming effect by the photo-reactive cockpit material. Unfortunately in this case, it is being a little too enthusiastic and dimming too strongly for such a low luminosity star.
Planned upgrades to the materials will rebalance the contribution from this system.
Many thanks.
Would said effect still apply if the canopy were broken?
True, although fortunately in this version of the game we could turn off lens flares!...an exposed canopy near a star would be blinding/deadly, which would make game-play rather difficult.
Draco B is a white dwarf but it is so small you can't get close enough to see it well. You come out of hyper space and it almost looks like a bug because you are used to having a start all up in your grill. It is there just you have to look for it.
A red dwarf is a small and relatively cool star on the main sequence, either late K or M spectral type.
