What kind of trade routes can I look for?

The best ones I can find are palladium to consumer tech with around 100k both ways at almost 1000cr/ton both ways. Is there anything better?

Yes there are routes with a better profit margin out there. I'm usually running profits of 2600cr per ton on a round-trip.

That's better than what I've found, 800cr one way and 400cr other is best I found. I've also just learnt "Check what the laden light year limit is before you buy a load of stuff then realise you can't get back so then have to sell it at a lose"

is that 1300cr/ton one way? I think the main issue I have is I can't find palladium supplies with high supply. Does how many trade routes of a specific item from a place affect how much supply there is?

Yes, or to be more specific, 1500/1100 or thereabouts. Market forces (supply and demand) most definitely affect the numbers.

its capped but its not true profit margins are the same. expensive stuff give better profits.

Minerals from extraction to refinery.
Metals from refinery to industrial.
Superconductors etc from industrial to high tech.

Easy to find trade routes.

The key is finding the ones with proper volume and demands (tip, population size)

The other way look at Progenitor Cells, Consumer Tech, Superconductors, Performance Enhancers, Resonating Separators and Imperial Slaves. You may stumble across one that uses Tobacco or Personal Weapons from time to time, as well.

you will get the same profit trading palladium, platinum, beryllium or consumer tech ...... - so its capped at the high end and that starts with commodities around 6k/t - each will give up to 1500k/t at a proper trade route

There are others as well, but what you have listed is my bread and butter.
