What luck,
Read the email yesterday about Oculus demos happening at 48 Best Buys across the nation and extremely few available for purchase. Just for grins looked at the closest one to me and it was about 30 minutes away. Got up this morning had a cup of coffee and drove out to Gurnee, IL for the hell of it. Got there around 9AM store opens at 10. There were 4 young guys waiting in line so I pulled up and asked them if they were here for a CV1, "hell yeah", do you how many they have?, "not a clue". Parked and joined them in line started discussing everything VR with them was having a great discussion when 10 minutes later the manager came out of the store and said we have 5 units for sale and there are 5 of you we are going to do this now before the store opens. Took us in and they had 1 at each of 5 registers so purchased and left thus I now have a CV1 that was not due to ship until Aug. Got home went on the Oculus site under order status and they have a button where you just put in where you purchased it and it automatically cancelled my pre-order. I know most people do not have this opportunity and not trying to rub anybody the wrong way but wow, how lucky is that. Set it up and ready to get back into gaming as I have been on hiatus after seeing how bad DK2 worked with the new runtime. DK2 is now for sale. Cheers
By the way if you have windows 10 and are having trouble getting the XBox controller to install go in to Settings - Update and it is sitting in there waiting for you to download after you plug the wireless controller in. Spent a 1/2 hr before realizing this.
